Race Highlights

• Halloween Theme: This Year's Race Will Be On HALLOWEEN!!!!!
• Nighttime Race: Come relieve history while running Ghosttown Trail's first ever nighttime race.
• Course Overview: A 5 mile race on a closed course with no road crossings.
• Lighting Requirement: A light source is necessary for nighttime visibility.

Course Information

• Safety: Stick to the right side of the trail for safety and easy passing.
• Elevation: Total gain of 115 feet with no descent on the way out.
• Water Stop: One water stop approximately 25 feet from the turn around.
• Course Decorations: Halloween decorations and lighting along the course for added fun.

Pricing

• Early Registration: $20 until October 4th at 6pm.
• Late Registration: $25 until registration closes, $30 on race day.
• Children: Free for children 10 and under; t-shirts must be purchased.
• Registration Hours: Opens at 5:30pm and closes at 6:15pm on race day.

Awards

• Categories: Top 3 Male & Female overall, top 3 in each age group.
• Special Honors: Awards for 45- and 46+ age groups for both male and female.
• No Duplication: Awards will not be mailed, must be present to receive.
• Time Limit: 1 Hour 30 minutes (18:00 minute pace per mile).

Schedule of Events

• 5:30 pm: Registration opens.
• 6:15 pm: Registration closes.
• 6:30 pm: Race starts.
• 8:05 pm: Awards ceremony.

Walk Division

• Awards: Top 3 overall Male & Female walkers.
• Age Categories: Two age group categories for 45- and 46+.
• No Running: Must walk entire time, disqualification for running.
• Time Frame: Must finish within 1:30 time frame.

Registration

Registration opens at 5:30 pm and closes at 6:15 pm. Race starts at 6:30 pm sharp. Must be across mats at 8:00pm to qualify for awards.

• Race Bib: Custom race bib number.
• Chip Timing: Accurate timing recorded at finish line.
• Memories: Photo opportunities at the finish line.
• Post-Race Snacks: Variety of snacks and hydration provided.

Lighting

• Personal Lighting: Must provide your own light source (headlamps, handhelds).
• Official Lighting: Limited lighting at start/finish and during awards.
• Preparation: Come prepared as the course will be dark.
• No Light Sources: No light sources provided on course.

Photos

Trail cameras will capture your race experience. Items for photos will be available at the start/finish line. Post-race photos will be shared online.

Food/Liquids

• Water Stop: Water available at the water stop.
• Post-Race Snacks: A variety of snacks will be provided.
• Finish Line Water: Water available at the finish line area.
• Hydration: Ensure hydration before and after the race.

Rules

• Child Registration: Children must have an adult present; no unsupervised children allowed.
• No Pets: Pets are not allowed in the race area.
• Headphones: Allowed, volume must be reasonable.
• No Smoking/Alcohol: Strictly enforced in the event area.

SWAG Shirts

Switching back to t-shirts this year; deadline is October 4th at 6pm. Must pick up shirt at the event.

No Refunds

We do not offer refunds, cancellations or transfers at this time. The event will occur regardless of weather unless a state of emergency is declared.

Timing

Chip timing with a mass start. Ensure bibs are placed on the front for accurate reading.

Results

Results will be posted at www.smileymiles.com, which may take up to 24 hours post-race.

Miscellaneous

Please respect the trail and fellow participants. Bathrooms available nearby, and photo opportunities provided along the course.
