Race Theme

This Year's Race Will Be On HALLOWEEN!!!!!

INTRO

• Experience: Come relieve history while running Ghosttown Trail's first ever nighttime race now in its 6th year that brings fun and excitement to all who partake.
• Route: This 5 mile race will be held on the Rexis Branch, this race is currently the only standalone race held on this section.
• Safety: It's a completely closed course. There are no road crossings or any intersections you have to worry about.
• Light Required: You will required to have some sort of light for you to see while running.

COURSE INFORMATION

• Course Design: Measured by sticking to the right side of the trail on the way out then on right side of the trail the way back.
• Elevation: 115 feet of total gain on the way out with no descent, just a slow steady incline.
• Water Stop: There will be one water stop on the course about 25 feet from the turn around under a pavilion along the trail.
• Decorations: Halloween decorations will be along the course and more noticeable than in the past.

PRICING

• Fees: Pricing is $20 until October 4th at 6pm, then it becomes $25 till registration closes, and $30 day of race.
• Children: Children 10 and under will be free until registration closes, then $10 day of.
• Registration: Day of registration starts at 5:30pm and ends at 6:15pm. Cash or Check only.
• T-Shirts: Although children's registrations are free, they must still purchase a t-shirt to get one.

• Start Point: Race starts at Rexis Trailhead in Vintondale.
• Starting Point: Will start right past the gate by the old train.

AWARDS

• Categories: Top 3 M & F overall, top 3 in each age group for the run.
• Additional Awards: Top 3 M &F for Walk including two age group categories for both top 3 male and female for 45- and 46+.
• No Duplicates: Awards will not be mailed.
• Conditions: Children 10 and under must run under their own power to qualify for awards.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

• 5:30 pm: Registration opens
• 6:15 pm: Registration closes
• 6:30 pm: Race starts
• 8:00 pm: Race ends

ACCOMMODATIONS

We want to make sure participants who may need some accommodations are certainly welcome. Please reach out ahead of time.

WALK DIVISION

• Categories: Top 3 overall male and female in the walk division.
• Conditions: Must finish within the 1:30 time frame with no running allowed.
• Disqualification: Running will result in disqualification.
• Serious Race Walkers: There will be serious race walkers present.

REGISTRATION

Registration opens at 5:30 pm and closes at 6:15 pm. Race starts at 6:30 pm sharp.

WHATS INCLUDED

• Race Kit: Custom race Bib Number, custom race sticker, chip timing finish.
• Events: Safe environment, post race snacks, and photo opportunities.
• Memories: Chance to make lasting memories and explore nighttime running.
• Photo Ops: Items set up for pictures at the finish line.

LIGHTING

Personal lighting will not be provided: you must provide your own source. Expect it to be dark on the course.

PHOTOS

Trail cameras will be set up to capture you during the race. A GoPro will be filming the finish line.

FOOD/LIQUIDS

Water will be provided at the water stop and also at the finish line area.

RULES

No unsupervised children, no pets, no smoking, alcohol or drug use is permitted. Please respect the event and fellow participants.

SWAG SHIRTS

Shirt deadline is firm on October 4th at 6pm. T-shirts are a $10 add on and must be picked up at the event.

EVENT POLICY

No refunds, cancellations, or transfers at this time. The event will go on no matter the weather unless a state of emergency is declared.

TIMING

Chip Timing with mass start. The timing mats must be placed on the front of your body for accurate results.

RESULTS

Results will be posted online after the race at www.smileymiles.com.

MISC

Please be respectful of the trail and fellow participants. Bathrooms are located about a tenth of a mile from the parking lot.
