Race Overview

• Location: UW-Whitewater Williams Center, Whitewater, WI
• Date: September 20, 2026
• History: Initiated by the Greater Whitewater Committee, Inc. in September 2013.
• Community Impact: Distributed $314,881 to local charities over thirteen years.

Course Description

• Half-Marathon: Retro course from the Whitewater ROTC Half Marathon in the 80s.
• 5k Route: Scenic section on the bike path, including a bridge crossing of Whitewater Creek.
• Finish Line: Exciting finish into Perkins Football Stadium on the field.
• Scenic Views: Runs through gently rolling roads showcasing the countryside.

Participant Experience

• Safety Priority: Exceptional and safe athletic event for all participants.
• Updates: Information will be posted as needed on the website and runwhitewater.com.

Registration

• Online Registration: Available until race day for Half Marathon, 5k, and Fit Kid Shuffle.
• 5k Teams: Online registration allowed until race day, with name changes accepted through September 16th.
• Kid's Korral: Online registration available until 11:59 PM the Wednesday prior to race day.

Event Shirts

• Shirt Pickup: Participants registering before September 1st can pick up shirts on-site.
• No Guarantee: Those registering September 1st - 20th may not receive a shirt on race day.
• Post-Race Mailing: Extra shirts will be mailed out approximately three weeks after the event.

Packet Pick-Up

• Location: UW-Whitewater - DLK Gymnasium (outside ramp entrance, door 23), Parking Lot 11
• Pick-Up Times:
  • Friday, September 18th 4 PM - 6:30 PM
  • Sunday, September 20th 6 AM - 7:45 AM (for Half Marathon and 5k)
  • Sunday, September 20th 7:45 AM - 10:30 AM (for Fit Kid Shuffle)
• Included in Packet: Bib, pins, and event shirt if applicable.
• Course Map: The DWS is a certified green race: no printouts will be provided in the packets.

Day of Parking

• Volunteers: Park in Lot 24 (Perkins Stadium Parking Lot) off Schwager and Warhawk Drive.
• Participants:
  • Park in Lot 11 (Williams Center) or Lot 9 (next to outdoor Sand Volleyball Courts).
  • Both lots are accessible from Warhawk Drive.

Awards/Prize Money

• Finisher’s Medal: All registered participants who complete the half marathon and 5K will receive a medal.
• Age Group Awards: Top three in each age group for both the half marathon and 5k.
• Overall Winners: Awards for the top 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers in both races.
• Purse Prize: Top three overall men and women in the half marathon will receive cash prizes ($400, $250, $100).
