Run for a New Day
Join us for the "Run for a New Day" 5K in beautiful Galveston, TX! This inspiring event is dedicated to raising awareness and funds for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) and mental health initiatives. Whether you're a seasoned runner or just looking for a fun way to support a great cause, this event is perfect for everyone.

Route
Start and Finish at Galveston Island Brewing. The route will go west on Stewart Road, south on 85th, and then west on the Seawall. Water Stop located at the turnaround.

Overall Male & Female, Age Groups Awards 1st-3rd Place: 19 & Under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 and up.
Impact
By participating in the "Run for a New Day" 5K, you'll be making a meaningful impact on the lives of those affected by mental health challenges and suicide. Your support will help AFSP continue their vital work in research, education, advocacy, and support for those affected by suicide. As AFSP states, "By creating a culture that’s smart about mental health, advocating for legislative policies that make suicide prevention a priority, and funding innovative research, we can save lives."
What to Expect
- Scenic Route: A scenic and fast 5K route along the paved seawall overlooking the Gulf.
- Chip Timing: The event will be chip timed.
- Activities: Fun and engaging activities for all ages.
- Networking: Opportunities to connect with others who are passionate about mental health.
Everyone receives 1 custom event pint glass, commemorative event t-shirt, and runners (21+) receive 2 GIB beers. There will be a post-race after party at Galveston Island Brewery, free race photos available online after the race, and strollers and dogs are welcome!
