This isn’t just a race — it’s a mission. (as crazy as it might seem)
On June 13th, step into a one‑of‑a‑kind endurance challenge honoring freedom, sacrifice, and America’s 250th birthday… with grit, determination and just a touch of insanity.
Every step you take supports the Semper Fi Fund, providing critical assistance to wounded, ill, and injured service members, veterans, and their families. Your miles have meaning.
A battle of will, strategy, and mental toughness — not speed.
Every hour on the hour, you run a 4.14‑mile loop. You have a one hour time limit to complete the loop. Finish in time? You earn the right to run again. All you need to do is make it to the start line on the hour before the bell rings and you are off on your next adventure.
Miss the cutoff? Your race ends.
That’s the magic: it’s your race to run. One loop or twenty — you choose your challenge.
Each loop unlocks a milestone:
How far will you go?

Runners lifting each other up and encouraging one another mile after mile. Support Crews cheering for every runner on every loop. Spectators celebrating with you every time you complete a loop. Friendships forged, some may last a lifetime. Run 1 loop, 5, 10 or more— the encouragement only grows. Every finished loop is a celebration.
Join a community where every runner is a champion and every loop is a celebration of the enduring American spirit. From the camaraderie in the corral to the final assist on the trail, this is where stories of resilience are written in sweat and determination. Your miles have meaning. Your grit has a legacy. It's time to write your own story!
A custom-designed race shirt, belt buckle and race swag you’ll actually want to wear. Take home the coveted "belt buckle" and other goodies. This isn’t just a run — it’s a tribute.
And if you’re the last one standing? Cash prize and The Sword of Honor — a symbol of grit, resilience, and the Backyard Ultra spirit. Only one runner will lift it. All others are winners too. Just no sword to take home.
Not ready for 30, 40, or 50 miles? Try the Last Stand 1776 Mini Ultra.
Run 1 loop, 2, maybe 3. Maybe pace a runner. Test the format. Experience the energy. Even one loop gives you a beautiful 4‑mile adventure — and a taste of something unforgettable.
You might just catch the Ultra Bug.
“One more loop.”
