The Richmond Road Runners Club is excited to invite you to participate in our annual Thanks Dad 5K race, designed as a Father's Day run to celebrate the special relationship between fathers, grandfathers, and their sons/daughters and grandsons/granddaughters.
Race Inspiration
- Memory of Pete Neal: The Thanks Dad 5K was created in memory of Pete Neal, a dedicated volunteer, and coordinator for our club.
- Legacy of Athletics: Pete had a deep love for athletics, which he passed on to his daughter Rebekah and son Jacob.
- Marathon Challenge: Pete and Jacob set out to run a marathon in each of the 50 states, completing 21 marathons in 18 states.
- Celebrating Connections: This race honors Pete's legacy and his commitment to running and the special bond between fathers and their children.

- Date: The race will take place on June 18, 2026.
- Location: The race starts and finishes at The Urban Farmhouse Market & Cafe, Midlothian, VA.
- In-person and Virtual: This year, we offer both an in-person and a virtual option for running or walking.
- Exciting Atmosphere: This year's Thanks Dad 5K promises to be an exciting event featuring a scenic course.
Registration Information
- Race Date: In-person Thanks Dad 5K will be on Sunday, June 21st (Father's Day).
- Virtual Option: Run at your convenience on Sunday, June 21st and post results between June 19 and June 22.
- RRRC Grand Prix Event: Both events are RRRC Grand Prix (GP) events for 2026.
- Shirt Deadline: Register by June 1st to receive a race shirt.
Race Day Logistics
- Packet Pickup: Saturday June 20th at Lucky Road Midlothian.
- Tentative Details: All details about packet pick-up and race day activities are subject to change.
- Update Notifications: Registered participants will receive updated information a few days before the race.
