Mayor's Challenge 5K + 1 Mile Costume Fun Run

Event Overview

Join us for our 8th annual Mayor's Challenge in 2026 with all proceeds to benefit 180 Turning Lives Around, a non-profit organization based in Freehold, NJ, dedicated to providing support and resources for individuals facing domestic and sexual violence in Monmouth County, NJ. Race Route

• Scenic Location: The race route meanders through one of the hidden gems of Middletown - Poricy Park!
• Trail Features: The trail consists of wide grass paths, as well as some sections of single track.
• Elevation Changes: Poricy Park is not flat - beware of the hills!
• Surface Types: This is a trail/cross-country course - race surfaces consist of grass, gravel, and wooden platforms - trails are not paved.

Race Schedule

• 5K Fitness Walk: 3:00pm
• 1mi Fun Run: 3:30pm
• 5K Race: 3:45pm

Costume Challenge

This 5K run/walk is a costume run! Dress in your Halloween (run-safe) costume and complete the challenge. Post-race prizes include:

• Overall Winners: 5K run overall male & female & top age range male & female:
• Fun Run Finishers: 1 mile fun run top finishers:
• Best Costume: (group, unique, and America 250 themed).
• Post-Race Fun: Stay after for the Halloween Hullabaloo!
