Beat the Heat Maryland Indoor 5K presented by Sun & Ski!

With August temperatures and humidity soaring, we are offering a great way to get a 5K run in! This indoor 5K takes place entirely inside Arundel Mills Mall!

Race Features

• Shopping Benefits: This 5K lets you take advantage of exclusive in-mall specials before or after you cross the finish line.
• Special Events: The inaugural race featured shopping events, coupons, giveaways, and swag from various sponsors.
• Race Options: Choose between completing multiple loops for the full 5K or opting for our family-friendly fun run or walk.
• Finishers' Awards: All finishers will receive a medal and a shirt.

Important Information

• Participant Limit: This race has a firm participant limit. If registration is still open, you’re in!
• Strollers: Strollers are only allowed during the Fun Run/Walk.
• Hydration: This is a cupless race! Please bring a container with a lid for your water.
• Check-In Times:
  • Elite Runners: 8:00 AM
  • 5K: 8:40 AM
  • Fun Run/Walk: 9:45 AM

Post-Race Activities

After you cross the finish line, stick around for post-race activities, including fitness demos, recovery stretches, training tips, and workout ideas for all ages.

Packet Pick-Up

Bib, swag, and shirts will be available on Saturday, August 8th, at Under Armour! If you cannot attend pick-up on Saturday, please email us for other accommodation.

• Finisher's Medal: All participants receive both a finisher's medal and a t-shirt!
• Retailer Offers: Check in for the swag bag our retailers and partners provide, including giveaways, raffles, promos, and discounts.
• Shirt Availability: Shirts are not guaranteed for runners who sign up after 8/1.

What to Bring

• Personal Items: Your personal water, bags, and gear are welcome!
• Parking: The closest and most convenient parking is at the Maryland Live! Casino parking garage, which is free.
• Prohibited Items: Please note that pets, selfie sticks, glass containers, and weapons are not permitted.

Distance Disclaimer

Please note: Course distance and start times may adjust slightly based on registration numbers and logistics.

Strollers and Children

The 5K course is four laps around the mall, which has a few tight sections. Strollers are welcome only in the Fun Run or Walk and must start at the back for everyone’s safety.
