About this race
Join us for Highlands County's second largest race - the 33rd Annual Firecracker 5k!
To be held on Sunday, July 4th at the Highlands Hammock State Park.
Event Purpose
- Organizer: This race is put on by our beloved Chet Brojek to raise funds in support of the running program at Avon Park High School.
- In Memory: We would like to recognize Mrs. Ruth Handley who passed away 6/24/26. She assisted Chet in forming the running programs at Avon Park High School and laid the foundation for what it has become today.
Race Day Schedule
- 7:00 am: Packet Pickup and Day of Registration
- 8:00 am: Horn Start
- 9:15 am: Awards

- Shirts: Shirts guaranteed if signed up by June 20th, 2027.
