Description
- Organization: StrongWILL is a 501c3 organization that raises money for our LOCAL COMMUNITY to aid with substance abuse awareness, recovery, and support.
- Founders: StrongWILL was founded by April and Nathan Brooks after the passing of April's brother, William West, of an overdose.
- Mission: We have a passion to help others who have struggled with addiction and have a desire to make an impact in our community.
- Anniversary: This year commemorates 10 years since our inception. We are hoping to raise a total of $12,500 after costs which would put us at donating $100,000 to our community since 2015!
Participation Options
- No T-shirt Option: Don't want another event shirt? No problem- sign up for "No T-shirt" option in the 5k registration. It's just you, your bib, and your shoes hitting the pavement.
- Virtual Participation: Can't make it on October 17th? Sign up for our virtual event. We will mail your shirt to you!
- Support: Want to support without showing up? Please consider making a donation or sharing our information to help us reach our goal.
- Post-Event: Afterwards, stay for the Driver Day's parade beginning at 9:00am and festival beginning at 10:00am.
Packet Pickup
- Date: Friday, October 16th
- Time: 4:30PM-6:30PM
- Location: Entrance of Driver Trail/Suffolk Seaboard Coastline Trail (intersection of Kings Highway and Nansemond Parkway)
- Additional Pickup: October 17th, at 6:45am (same location)
Parking
- Carpooling: We strongly encourage participants to carpool due to limitations in parking.
- Free Parking: Limited parking is provided in front of a house near the trail for the events (signs will be set up at the trail).
- Parking Removal: Parking is free of charge until the end of the race, but cars MUST move immediately after the race.
- Additional Parking: Limited free parking is also available at Driver Elementary School which is about a 0.3 mile walk to the entrance of the trail through the festival.

- Child Prizes: Every registered child will have the option of getting a race prize.
- Refreshments: Light breakfast refreshments and water will be provided.
