Morgantown Running 5k Turkey Trot 2026 + Kids 800m Turkey Fun Run

WHEN

• Date: Thursday, November 26, 2026

TIME

• Kids 800m Turkey Fun Run: 8:30 a.m. (kids under 12)
• 5k Run/Walk: 9:00 a.m.

DESCRIPTION

• Join Us: Join Morgantown Running at 9:00am on Thanksgiving Day for a trot around Morgantown with your family (but please, leave your dogs at home as they are not allowed).
• Course: Participants can run or walk this 5k course that begins on the blue track by the WVU Coliseum. You will run almost an entire lap around the track before exiting and making a left onto Mon Blvd.
• Trail: The last approximately 2 miles will be on the rail trail heading to the finish behind the Seneca Center at Morgantown Running.
• Awards: There will be awards for the top 3 male and female finishers and the top male and female 5k walkers.

KIDS FUN RUN

• Eligibility: Kids under 12 are more than welcome to register for the 5k, or they can run in the 800m Turkey Fun Run at 8:30am.
• Format: This race is 2 laps around the blue track (where the 5k begins) and will be done in 2 heats.
• Heats: Kids under 5 will be in heat 1, and kids 6-12 will be in heat 2.

PARKING/SHUTTLE

• Locations: You can park at either the start at the blue track by the WVU Coliseum or at the finish at the Seneca Center.
• Shuttle Service: There will be a shuttle getting you where you need to be before and after the race provided by Fox Shuttle Service.

REGISTRATION

• PRIZES 5k Run: Top 3 male and top 3 female finishers. We will post race results in appropriate age categories.
• Random Prizes: Random prizes from Morgantown Running!
• SOCKS: First 1000 runners/walkers to register will receive a pair of socks. NEW CREW SOCKS! Now in Size OPTIONS! (S/M or L/XL)

DONATION

• Giving Back: Thanksgiving is a great time for giving to those in need.
• Items Needed: Our local Christian Help is in need of men's gently-used clothing, belts, shoes, and non-perishable proteins.
• Drop-off: Please drop-off donations any time at Morgantown Running leading up to the race or the day of.
