Get ready to dive into the excitement of the 7th Annual New River Splash Triathlon, Duathlon & 5k presented by Moore Buick GMC! Taking place in Jacksonville, NC, the race offers a thrilling experience in the heart of a military town, surrounded by Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune and Marine Corps Air Station New River. Starting and finishing in downtown Jacksonville, participants will conquer the swim portion in the scenic New River, cycle through MCB Camp Lejeune, and sprint through the vibrant streets of downtown. Don't miss out on this incredible event, sanctioned by USA Triathlon. If you're not a member, no worries - simply select a one-day pass during registration and join the action!

📅 Important Registration Information

• Registration Deadline: April 30th for the Triathlon & Duathlon ONLY!
• Base Access: If you have base access and would like to register after the deadline, please email Marisa Reeder at marisa@josc-nc.com.

🏃‍♂️ Event Distances

• Triathlon: 400 m swim // 17.5 mile bike // 5k run
• Duathlon: Run 1 mile // 17.5 mile bike // 5k run
• 5k Run: Run 3.1 miles

T-shirts and Registration

• T-shirts: We don't include t-shirts in the race registration. If you would like one, select it during the registration process.

⏰ Event Timeline

• 6:00am: Packet Pickup opens
• 6:00am: Transition Area Opens
• 7:00am: ALL BIKES MUST BE IN THE TRANSITION AREA
• 7:00am: Packet pickup closes (Tri & DU Athletes)
• 7:10am: Pre race meeting
• 7:30am: Triathlon start (staggered start)
• 7:30am: Packet pickup closes (5k Runners)
• 7:35am: Duathlon start
• 7:55am: 5k start*
  *Possible delay if duathletes are still on the course
• Note: All athletes must pickup their chip near the packet pickup area before they race.

❓ Q&A Section

• Is the water safe? Yes, the water is tested by the City of Jacksonville Stormwater Department. If for some reason it is unsafe, we will cancel the swim portion of the event. Please note that it is normal river with the potential to see different types of wildlife.
• Am I allowed to wear a wetsuit? Wetsuits are only allowed if water temperature is below 78 degrees. We will be checking the water temperature the day before the race and will let everyone know.
• Are there finisher medals? YES! Everyone receives a finisher medal who completes the race in person or virtually.
