Pickens County Meals on Wheels 5K Glow Run

🎉 Race Overview

Pickens County Meals on Wheels is excited to be hosting our 8th Annual 5K Glow Run presented by Prisma Health. The race will take place in front of the McKissick Center on Hwy 93 and end at the rear of our building on Edgemont Avenue. We will be holding a "Glow Attire Contest" at 7:00 pm where participants are encouraged to be creative with their Glow Attire. Awards will be given to First and Second place.

🕒 Event Details

• Race Time: The timed race will begin at 7:30.
• Participants: We welcome runners and walkers to join in on the festivities this year.

Awards and Recognition

• Award Categories: Awards will be given to the top 3 Males and Females in three age brackets: 15 and under, 16 to 29, and 30 and over.

🍕 Post-Race Celebration

A post-race snack will be provided along with a "Selfie-Station" with UV lighting to post your glow pics on social media!

🤝 About Us

Pickens County Meals on Wheels is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to making sure that no senior is left isolated or hungry. With the help of 500 volunteers, we deliver 450 meals daily, ensuring our aging neighbors remain independent and connected. In 2025 alone, we will serve 600 seniors and provide over 80,000 meals. Our budget relies on fundraising and donations to help us continue to provide meals and a friendly safety check to our homebound seniors. Thank you for your participation, and we look forward to a fun and safe event!

• Course Safety: The course will have directional arrows and course monitors on race day. We will ensure runners' safety with volunteers and police escorts.

The route starts in front of the Pickens County Performing Arts Center on 93, left on Commerce Street, left on Edgemont Avenue, right on Peachtree Street, left on Hillcrest, right on 93 (main street) down to track at field doing 1 lap, left on main, taking a right on Commerce Street, right on Front Street, right on Peachtree Street, right on 93 (main street), left on Commerce Street, left on Edgemont Avenue ending at the 2nd entrance into our parking lot at the McKissick Center.
