🏃‍♂️ Event Overview

Join us for the 3rd Annual Soldiers Freedom Outdoors 5K Run & 1 Mile Walk at Liberty Park in Downtown Inverness! This event is being held as part of the PTSD Awareness Month and proceeds go to the Soldiers Freedom Outdoor, an organization that help active duty and service veterans in our area.

🗓️ Schedule

• 6:30 am: Packet Pickup and Day of Race Registration Opens
• 7:30 am: 5K Race Start
• 7:35 am: 1 Mile Walk
• 8:45 am: Awards Ceremony (Approx. Time)

🎖️ Participant Perks

• Finisher Medal: All participants will receive a custom finisher medal.
• Event Shirt: An awesome event shirt will be provided.
• Commemorative Bib: Each participant will get a commemorative bib.
• Post-Race: Plenty of food and drinks will be available after the race.

💖 In Memory of Gail DiMarco

Let's gather to remember Gail DiMarco. Gail joined the board of directors in 2012 and has said, “the privilege of serving on the Board gives me the opportunity to give back to all of our military. As a daughter of a career military father I realize the sacrifice my Dad made while serving our country. I am constantly in awe of the courage and commitment our soldiers demonstrate at home and abroad. Giving back is something that every American should do.”

"Soldiers Freedom Outdoors is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, founded in 2011 and became a public charity in 2014. Soldiers Freedom Outdoors is dedicated to serving our active-duty and service veterans. In 11 years of service, SFO has provided eco therapy (nature therapy) to hundreds of soldiers, regardless of gender, service branch or length of service. Since our inception, we have helped change the lives of many suffering from post-traumatic stress and re-connected them with the healing power of Nature. Some of our heroes have said our program saved their lives… powerful testimonies like that make us work harder than ever to meet our soldier’s needs, and gives us confidence we are making a difference. There is no charge for our retreats."
