Race Details
TVC5K “Run the Runway” is a 5K run/walk for charity held on the actual closed down north south runway of Cherry Capital Airport.
- Unique Experience: Participants run where planes land and take off.
- Charitable Purpose: Raise awareness for Wings of Mercy in Northern Michigan.
- Impact: Wings of Mercy provides free flights for families to medical destinations.
- Volunteer Contribution: Over 8,000 flights donated since 1991.
Event Participation
- 2025 Highlights: Sold out with 500+ runners, raised over $24,000.
- 2026 Goal: Expand to 700 runners, offering more community involvement.
- Aviation Access: Up close access to airplanes, helicopters, and aviation professionals.
- Engaging Activities: Interact with flight and rescue vehicles at the event.
