Port Oneida Run

Join us for this unique event! The only run where the courses traverse through the scenic rolling hills and tranquil level pastoral pathways of the Port Oneida Rural Historic District, within Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.

🌄 About Port Oneida

Port Oneida is celebrated as “one of the most prized historic landscapes in the country” and showcases historic farms and barns from the 1800’s nestled in the rolling hills and picturesque trails alongside Lake Michigan. Port Oneida is also home of Pyramid Point, a favorite of residents and visitors.

📍 Location

Port Oneida Heritage Center, Olsen Farm, 3164 W. Harbor Drive (M-22), Maple City, Michigan 49664. Just four miles north of Glen Arbor, west of Port Oneida road. Registration, Start & Finish is at the Big Red Barn.

PARKING: On site at the Olsen Farm: follow the signs.

🕒 Schedule

• Packet Pickup: 6:30 – 8:00 AM at the Port Oneida Heritage Center/Olsen Farm.
• Half Marathon starts: 7:30 AM
• 10K starts: 7:40 AM
• 5K starts: 8:15 AM
• All Courses Close: 11:30 AM

🏅 Race Information

Professional chip timing by RF Timing. Pin race bibs horizontally and unobstructed on the OUTSIDE and FRONT of your clothing as close to the waist as possible to ensure accurate finish times: do not bend or tear bibs. All races start and end at the historic Olsen Farm’s Big Red Barn.

• Pets: Animals are only allowed in the farmyard and only in the 5K run/walk event. All pets must be well controlled and always be kept on a short leash.
• Weather: The race will take place rain or shine (but not lightening).
• Water Stations: Water stations are placed approximately every 3 miles along the courses, however, this race takes place in August and we encourage runners to carry their own hydration (bring your camelback!).

📝 Registration

• Half Marathon: $90 (After 7/31 $110)
• 10K: $60 (After 7/31 $75)
• 5K: $35 (After 7/31 $45)
• Kid’s run: Free

Payment: cash, credit card or check. Online registration closes Friday, August 1st at 5 PM. Entries are nonrefundable and nontransferable. Runners under 18 years old require a parent’s signature on registration forms. Walk-Ons Welcome!

👕 Shirts

All 5K, 10K, and Half Marathon runners registered will receive a run shirt if registered by July 15. After July 15, shirts will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

🏆 Awards

First overall male & female awards will be given for each of the three races. Top 3 finishers in each age category and gender, in each of the three events, will receive a unique wooden medal. Age Groups: 12 and under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+.

Awards will be handed out near the barn when final times are posted. You or a designated person must be present to receive your award: no awards will be mailed. All Half Marathon participants will receive a finishers ribbon. All Kid run participants receive a ribbon and sour cherry patch candy from Cherry Republic.

🎟️ Raffle Prizes

All registered participants are eligible to win one of six raffle prizes, including a guided horse and wagon tour or bike tour of Port Oneida. Must be present to win.

🏕️ National Park Policies

• Park Pass: A National Park pass is required.
• Invasive Species: Help keep the park free of invasive species! Please clean shoes of mud and debris, soil and seed, prior to coming to the race to prevent the introduction of invasive plant material.
