$5K - August

Event Overview

The $5K is designed as a low-key race for the athlete who wants to run a tune-up race to prepare for their targeted event, the novice who may be intimidated by larger events, and runners/walkers who want an event to test themselves without breaking the bank.

Race Experience

• Monthly Events: Each monthly race is geared to give you, the runner, a chance to test your abilities, concentrate on your technique, and converse with other people in the running community.
• Community Focus: We keep it small while still providing you with an official chip-timed 5K event!
• Competition: For those wanting a little more competition - the $5K Race Series is one 5K per month (always the 2nd Tue) from April - September.
• Awards: Runners are awarded points based on finishing times and awards are given at the September race. Learn more by clicking on the link under RACE INFO.

Cost Details

• Entry Fee: $5.00.
• Discounts: No TCTC discount.
• Refund Policy: No refunds, transfers, or deferrals allowed for this race.
• Cancellation Policy: In the event the race is cancelled for reasons beyond the control of the Race Directors, efforts will be made to reschedule the affected race(s) for the following Tuesday.

Race Regulations

• No Pets Allowed: Participants will not be issued a bib and/or DQ'd!
• Headphones Discouraged: Talk to your fellow runners! Most of them are actually nice!
• Strollers Allowed: Please start in the back of the pack! It’s chip-timed, so you can pass on the greenway!

Attention

• Race Cap: Registration for this race is limited to 150 participants.
• Wait List: After reaching the cap, a wait list goes into effect. You will receive an email from the wait list and have 24 hours to register.
• Race Day Registration: Available only through participant devices. No registration kiosks will be available at the race.
