Salem Summer Solstice 5/10K

Race Overview

This race is a fundraiser to support McKay HS Cross Country Team!

Date and Time

• Date: Friday, June 12th, 2026
• 10k Start: 7:00 PM
• 5k Start: 7:10 PM
• Starting Location: Minto Brown Island Park, parking lot #3 by the pavilion

Race Course Details

• Course Type: Flat courses in a natural setting in a beautiful park.
• 5K Course: All on paved trails.
• 10K Course: Includes a small loop along an open trail and then returns to a paved path.
• Post-Race: Entry fee includes a post-race ice-cream sundae.

Timing and Awards

• Chip Timing: Provided by Eclectic Edge Racing with immediate timing results.
• Divisions: 10-year age groups (1-10, 11-20, 21-30...80-89).
• Awards: Top three male/female winners will be awarded ribbons.
• Course Closure: All race courses close at 9:00 PM.

Important Information

• Restrictions: No rollerblades/skates, skateboards, dogs, or unregistered participants. Baby joggers and strollers are allowed.
• Walkers: Welcome in the 5K.
• Headphones: Permitted as long as they allow ambient passthrough noise.
• Packet Pickup: Begins at 6:00 PM: Day of Race Registration ends at 6:50 PM.

Discounts and Membership

• Club Member Discounts: All current members of the Willamette Valley Road Runners Club will save $3.00 on their entry fee.
• Membership: Join WVRR or renew today!
• Aid Stations: One water station is provided for both races around mile point 1.25 for the 5K and 4.25 for the 10K.
• Payment: All forms of payment accepted on race day (unless capacity is reached before then).
