Sunset River Run

🏞️ Welcome to the Sunset River Run

• Scenic Setting: A beautiful valley, a tranquil river, and a scenic route await participants.
• Event Overview: Welcome to the third annual Sunset River Run, ideal for competitors and leisurely runners alike.
• Location: The event takes place in peaceful Happy Valley, NC (between Lenoir & Blowing Rock).
• Date: Mark your calendar for May 24, 2025.

🏁 Race Details

• 5K Route: The point-to-point course starts at Lapaz / Marshallberg Farm (3232 Indian Grave Rd, Lenoir, NC) and finishes at Happy Valley Filling Station (1275 Highway 268, Lenoir, NC).
• Afterparty: Enjoy awards, craft beer, wood-fired pizza, and live music after the run.
• Free Beer: Every participant (21+) will receive a free beer from Happy Valley Filling Station!
• Kids Run: The Kids Run Presented By Quest 4 Life starts at 8:00 pm.

📅 Event Schedule

• Friday (5/23): Pre Race Packet Pick Up (6:00 pm - 8:00 pm) at Happy Valley Filling Station (1275 NC-268, Lenoir, NC).
• Saturday (5/24): On Site Registration & Packet Pick Up (5:30 pm - 6:45 pm) at Starting Line.
• Race Start: The Third Annual Sunset River Run starts at 7:00 pm.
• Shuttles: Available to return runners back to their cars at the starting area starting at 7:45 pm.

🚗 Parking Information

• Parking Location: Provided at the starting line (Lapaz / Marshallberg Farm - 3232 Indian Grave Rd., Lenoir, NC).
• Shuttle Service: A courtesy shuttle will run from the finish line to the start line beginning at 7:45 pm.
• Return Service: This shuttle will help return runners back to their vehicles.

🏅 Awards and Recognition

• Top Finishers: Top 3 Overall Male/Female will receive custom trophies and Mountain Running Company gift certificates.
• Masters Category: Top 2 Male/Female Master (40 & Over) will also receive custom awards.
• Age Groups: Custom medals for Top 3 male/female in various age groups.

👶 Kids Fun Run

• Age Requirement: Open to kids age 12 and younger.
• Course Length: The race is a 1/2 mile course starting and ending at the Sunset River Run Finish Line.
• Registration Fee: The cost for the race is $5, and every participant receives a medal and a custom bib.
• Event Timing: This non-timed event will commence after the 5k at 8:00 pm.

• Series Overview: The Third Annual Sunset River Run is the first race in The Foothills Run Series presented by UNC Ortho.
• Upcoming Races: Participate in additional series races scheduled throughout the year including Southern Sundown 4 Miler and more.
• Special Awards: Top finishers in the series will receive unique custom awards based on their performance across all five races.
