What is a Tunnel to Towers Run & Walk?

• Purpose: The Tunnel to Towers Run & Walk Series was created to honor the heroic life and death of Stephen Siller, a New York City firefighter (FDNY) who lost his life on September 11, 2001.
• Event Overview: Honor all of those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001 and support our first responders and military who make extraordinary sacrifices in the line of duty!

How far is a Tunnel to Towers Run & Walk?

• Distance: This is a 5K (3.1 miles).
• Participation: You are welcome to walk or run this event.

Can I get a timing chip?

• Timing: No. This is not a timed event.

Packet Pickup Information

• Date: Packet Pick Up will be on Friday, September 12th from 1:00-4:00 PM.
• Location: Sole Sports Tempe at 1006 E Warner Rd. Suite 104 Tempe, AZ 85284.
• Directions: NE corner of Rural Rd & Warner Rd, next to Landis Cyclery and behind Postino's.

Registration Details

• Early Registration: Yes! Prices will go up as the event gets closer so register now for the cheapest price.
• Day of Registration: Yes, but the registration cost will go up an additional $5.00 on race day.

Parking Availability

• Location: Yes. Parking is located at 201 S. Ash Avenue, Tempe, AZ 85281.

Bib Number Requirement

• Display: Yes, please display your bib on the front of your outermost garment.

Fast Runners

• Front Line Position: Runners predicting a pace faster than 6 minute/mile will be seeded in the front corral (arrive early).

Water Availability

• Stations: Yes, a water station will be available along the route.
• Finish Line: There will be water available at the Finish Line.

Allowed Items

• Permitted: Strollers and wheelchairs are permitted.
• Special Gear: Firefighter turnout gear and military backpacks are also permitted.
• Valuables: Please leave all personal items and valuables in your vehicle at your own risk.

Fundraising Information

• Registration Fee: Your registration fee does NOT count toward the fundraising goal.
• Fundraising Page: We encourage everyone to build a fundraising page and spread the word!
• Social Media: Check us out on Facebook.

Packet Pickup by Others

• Procedure: Yes, they can. They must present a copy of your registration receipt.
• Appreciation: Don't forget to thank them!

Donations Post-Race

• Acceptance: Yes. Donations will be accepted for 6 weeks after the event.

• Requirement: No, there is no fundraising minimum.
• Impact: Most of the money for our programs comes through fundraising.

Receipts for Registrants

• Receipt Info: When you register online you should automatically receive a receipt.
• Bring: Please bring the receipt to packet pick-up or day of event.

Medical Staff Availability

• On-Site: Yes, there will be an Emergency Medical Service team available.
• Communication: Radio communication available on the course to assist EMS.

Headphones Policy

• Use: Yes, headphones are allowed at your own risk.

Costume Policy

• Encouragement: Yes, patriotic clothing is highly encouraged!

Refund Policy

• Policy: No, unfortunately, all registrations are final.

Weather Cancellations

• Cancellation Policy: No, the event is held rain or shine, except in the case of lightning.

Sweeper Van Availability

• Service: We will go through the course at the end of the race to check.
