What is a Tunnel to Towers Run & Walk?

• Purpose: The Tunnel to Towers Run & Walk Series was created to honor the heroic life and death of Stephen Siller, a New York City firefighter (FDNY) who lost his life on September 11, 2001.
• Location: He ran through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the Twin Towers.
• Honor: Honor all of those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001 and support our first responders and military.

How far is a Tunnel to Towers Run & Walk?

• Distance: This is a 5K (3.1 miles). You are welcome to walk or run this event.
• Ceremony Time: The Ceremony begins at 7:30am.
• Run Start: The 5K begins at 8:00am.
• Post-Event: Stick around afterwards for some additional fun and awards.

Can I get a timing chip?

• Timing: YES! This is now a timed event.

Where and when can I pick up my packet?

• Date: Packet pick up has been scheduled for Thursday, September 10th from 3-7pm.
• Location: Road Runner Sports, 43 S. McClintock Drive Tempe, AZ 85288.
• Day of Pickup: We will also have Day of Event Packet Pick Up starting at 7:00am.

Is there an incentive to register early?

• Price: Yes! Prices will go up as the event gets closer so register NOW for the best price!
• T-Shirt: If you would like a guaranteed event T-Shirt, you must be registered 6 weeks prior to the event.

Can I register the day of the run?

• Availability: Yes, but the registration cost will go up an additional $5.00 on race day.

Is there parking available?

• Location: Yes. Parking is located at 201 S. Ash Avenue, Tempe, AZ 85281.

Do I have to wear my bib number?

• Display: Yes, please display your bib on the front of your outermost garment.

I am a fast runner. Can I get a front line position?

• Eligibility: Runners predicting a pace faster than 6 minute/mile will be seeded in the front corral (arrive early).

Will water be available?

• Stations: Yes, a water station will be available along the route and there will be water available at the Finish Line.

What can you bring to the event?

• Items: Strollers and wheelchairs are permitted. Firefighter turnout gear and military backpacks are also permitted.
• Valuables: Please leave all personal items and valuables in your vehicle. All items should be stored securely at the owner's risk.

Does my registration fee count towards my fundraising goal?

• Fundraising: Your registration fee does NOT count toward the fundraising goal.
• Swag: There are some great T2T swag you can earn while fundraising.
• Page: We encourage everyone to build a fundraising page and spread the word! Check us out on Facebook.

Can someone else pick up my packet for me?

• Pickup: Yes, they can. They must present a copy of your registration receipt.

Can I still donate to a team and/or individual after the start of the race?

• Donations: Yes. Donations will be accepted for 6 weeks after the event.

How can my company/organization sponsor this event?

• Contact: Please send all sponsorship correspondence to Tempe@t2t.org with your contact information.

I would like to donate goods or services to this event. How do I do that?

• Contact: You can contact us at Tempe@t2t.org.
• Appreciation: Your generosity will be greatly appreciated.

Is there a fundraising minimum to participate in this event?

• Minimum: No, there is no fundraising minimum.
• Costs: The cost of registration just barely covers the cost of the event.

As a participant, can I fundraise/encourage others to donate?

• Fundraising: Yes! Once you are registered, you will be given directions to start your own fundraising page.

Can I transfer my registration to another participant?

• Transfer: Yes, see information above OR contact us at Tempe@t2t.org.

How can I volunteer?

• Sign up: It's simple! Click on the volunteer option above and enter your information to sign up.

Do registrants get receipts?

• Receipt: When you register online you should automatically receive a receipt.

Is there a medical staff available on-site?

• EMS: Yes, there will be an Emergency Medical Service team available on site.

Can I use/wear headphones on the course?

• Headphones: Yes, headphones are allowed at your own risk.

Am I allowed to wear a costume?

• Costumes: Yes, patriotic clothing is highly encouraged!

Can I get a refund on my race entry fee?

• Refund Policy: No, unfortunately, all registrations are final.

Will the race be canceled/postponed due to weather?

• Weather: No, the event is held rain or shine, except in the case of lightning.

Will there be a ‘sweeper’ van available on the course?

• Sweeper Van: We will go through the course at the end of the race to check.
