Gobble on the Green 5K Overview

Turkey, cornbread dressing, pumpkin pie, football, and family time … there are so many reasons to love Thanksgiving! Did we mention pie? Each family has its own activities and traditions to look forward to. The Village Green offers a 5K Run/Walk turkey-trot, Gobble On the Green!

T-Shirts

• Order Deadline: The final t-shirt order will be placed at 1:00pm on Nov. 6th.
• Availability: Additional t-shirts will not be available on race day this year.
• Registration Requirement: T-Shirts are only available to those registered by November 6th at 12 pm.
• Sign Up: We invite you to sign up and be part of the Thanksgiving Day fun!

Pre-Race Check In

• Early Check In: Available on Wednesday, November 25th from 3-6pm at The Village Green Lewis Hall (Address: 160 Frank Allen Road in Cashiers).
• Materials Distribution: Participants will receive their bib and t-shirt.
• Encouragement: Participants are strongly encouraged to check in early on November 25th.
• Race Day Check-In: Available inside Lewis Hall from 7:30am-8:45am.

Event and Course Details

• Course Map: Please see the race course map and written directions included on this race website.
• Assistance: There will be signage and volunteers posted along the racecourse to assist with directions.
• Stroller Guidelines: If you are a parent with a stroller, please start the race at the back of the group.
• Dog Policy: While we are a dog-friendly park, there is no dog participation in this event.

Parking

• Available Locations: Parking is available at The Village Play, the Jackson County Recreation Center, and several other nearby sites.
• Walking Distance: All parking areas are about a 5-minute walk to the start of the race.
• Library Parking: The Post Office parking lot (excluding the row closest to the building), and the grass lot behind the United Community Bank.

Awards

• Overall Winners: The top two overall winners (male and female) will receive pies in addition to race medals.
• Age Group Recognition: Age level awards will be given to the top two finishers (male and female) in 7 age groups.
• Door Prizes: Four door prizes from local businesses will be given based on random bib number drawings.
• Presence Required: Participants must be present to win door prizes and awards.

Post Race Information

All participants' race times will be posted to the Gobble on The Green Run Sign Up website post-race. Thank you for participating in the 2026 Gobble on The Green!

Your registration in Gobble allows The Village Green to operate and maintain a 13+ acre nonprofit park that is open 365 days a year for free, where over 270 days of free community events occur!
