Gobble on the Green 5K

🦃 Race Overview

Turkey, cornbread dressing, pumpkin pie, football, and family time … there are so many reasons to love Thanksgiving! Did we mention pie? Each family has its own activities and traditions to look forward to. The Village Green offers a 5K Run/Walk turkey-trot, Gobble On the Green!

👕 T-Shirts

• Final Order Deadline: The final t-shirt order was placed at 1:00pm on Nov. 7th.
• Availability: Additional t-shirts will not be available on race day this year.
• Registration Cutoff: T-Shirts are only available to those registered by November 12th.
• Registration Invitation: While extra t-shirts will not be available, we still invite you to sign up and enjoy the Thanksgiving Day fun!

📋 Pre-Race Check In

• Early Check In: Wednesday, November 26th from 3-6pm at The Village Green Lewis Hall (Address: 160 Frank Allen Road in Cashiers).
• What You'll Receive: Participants will receive their bibs and t-shirts.
• Encouragement: Participants are strongly encouraged to check in early on November 26th.
• Race Day Check-In: Will be available inside Lewis Hall from 7:30am-8:45am.

🏃‍♂️ Event and Course Details

• Course Map: The race course map and written directions are included on the race website.
• Assistance: There will be signage and volunteers along the racecourse.
• Stroller Guidelines: Parents with strollers should start at the back of the group.
• Dog Policy: No dog participation in the event: spectators must keep dogs leashed and under control.

🏆 Awards

• Overall Winners: The top two overall winners (male and female) will receive pies and race medals.
• Age Group Awards: Age level awards will be given to the top two finishers (male and female) in 7 age groups.
• Door Prizes: Four door prizes from local businesses based on random bib number drawings.
• Presence Required: Participants must be present to win door prizes and awards.

📅 Post Race Information

All participants' race times will be posted to the Gobble on The Green Run Sign Up website post race. Thank you for participating in the 2024 Gobble on The Green!

Most of all, thank you for your support of The Village Green, a 501c3 non-profit park system. Your registration in Gobble allows The Village Green to operate and maintain a 13+ acre nonprofit park that is open 365 days a year for free, where over 270 days of free community events occur! We look forward to seeing you bright and early on Thanksgiving to Gobble on The Green! This event is held rain or shine!
