Race Overview

• Date: April 11, 2026
• Location: 379 Memorial Drive, Cullowhee, NC
• Event Types: Half Marathon and 5K
• Course: The race is hosted on the campus of Western Carolina University along the banks of the Tuckasegee River.

Course Details

• 5K Course: Completely on campus, with moderate elevation change.
• Half Marathon Course: Starts on campus, heads off for a few miles before returning for the finish.

Organizers

• Host: Western Carolina University School of Health Sciences.
• Collaboration: Department of Campus Recreation & Wellness.
• Purpose: Proceeds support student professional development and academic scholarships.

Race Packets

• Contents: Each participant receives a race packet with a t-shirt, race bib, and sponsorship materials.
• Finisher Medals: Awarded to all half marathon finishers.
• Packet Pickup: April 10th, 2026 from 3pm-7pm and on race day April 11th from 6:30am-7:30am.
• Location: WCU Campus Recreation Center.

Awards

• Half Marathon: Custom placing medals for overall male and female winners, master's winners, and top three in each age group (13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+).
• 5K: Custom medals for overall male and female winners, master's winners, and top three in each age group (14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+).
