• Event: Fifth annual Bright Ideas 5K
• Course: Certified course of varied terrain in the beautiful Lowcountry

Race Details

• Packet Pickup: 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday, April 24, 2026 at Fleet Feet's Carnes Crossroads location
• Race Day Pickup: Available until 7:45 a.m. at Cypress Gardens
• Parking: Limited at Cypress Gardens: please carpool or arrive early
• Shuttle Service: To a remote lot at Celanese (formerly DuPont) will be provided

Course Safety

• Road Closure: The road into Cypress Gardens is part of the course
• Closure Time: Will close at 7:45 a.m. for athlete safety
• Reopening: Will reopen after the last athlete has cleared the road

Beneficiary

• Proceeds: Benefit Berkeley Electric Cooperative's Bright Ideas Education Grant Program
• Support: Funds innovative projects not covered by traditional school funding
• Eligibility: K-12 teachers in BEC's service territory can apply for grants up to $1,500
• Application Period: Opens January 1: winners recognized at the 5K's awards ceremony
