Purpose: The Tunnel to Towers Run & Walk Series was created to honor the heroic life and death of Stephen Siller, a New York City firefighter (FDNY) who lost his life on September 11, 2001 after strapping on his gear and running 3 miles through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the Twin Towers.
Honoring Heroes: We honor those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001 by supporting our first responders and military who make extraordinary sacrifices in the line of duty!

Community Event: This will be the seventh year in Fort Myers, and we are excited to once again bring together the community to honor first responders, remember 9/11, and raise funds for the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
🏅 How far is a Tunnel to Towers Run & Walk?
Distance: This is a 5K (approximately 3.1 miles) to walk or run this event.
Open to All: Anyone can run, walk, or experience this event.
📦 Where can I pick up my packet?
Packet Pickup: September 5, 2025 from 4:00 p.m.- 6:00 p.m. at Fleet Feet Fort Myers, 13499 S Cleveland Ave Ste 209, Fort Myers, FL 33907.
Race Day Pickup: September 6, 2025, 7:00 a.m.- 7:45 a.m. at Florida Southwestern State College, 8099 College Parkway, Fort Myers, FL 33919.
📝 Can I register the day of the run?
Yes: Online registration will remain open through race day.
Registration Table: Will open at 7am the morning of the race.
QR Registration: Day of registrations will only be available using a QR reader through your cell phone only.
No Paper Registrations: Paper registrations will not be used.
⏰ When does online registration close?
Important: Online registration will remain OPEN through Saturday, September 6, 2025 and close promptly at race time.
Price Increase: Registration prices on race day will increase $10 for all registrations except for First Responders.
👕 Do I have to wear my bib number?
Yes: Please display your bib on the front of your outermost garment.
Course Rules: Those who run without a bib will be asked to leave the course and will not be allowed to finish.
🏃♀️ I am a fast runner. Can I get a front-line position?
Front Corral: Runners predicting a pace faster than 6 minute/mile will be seeded in the front corral (arrive early).
🏆 Will there be awards for running?
Awards: Yes, we keep them very simple since our mission is to honor first responders.
Experience: Most of our awards are based on firefighters, police or military running in gear in the same fashion that Stephen Siller did on 9/11.
💧 Will water be available?
Water Station: Yes, a water station will be available along the route.
Start/Finish Line: Water will also be available at the start/finish line.
🎒 What can you bring to the event?
Permitted Items: Strollers and wheelchairs are permitted. Firefighter turnout gear and military backpacks are also permitted.
Personal Items: Please do not leave any personal items visible in your vehicle.
Owner's Risk: All items should be stored securely at the owner's risk.
💰 Does my registration fee count towards my fundraising goal?
No: Your registration fee does not count toward the fundraising goal.
👤 Can someone else pick up my packet for me?
Yes: They must present a copy of your registration receipt.

💵 Can I still donate to a team and/or individual after the start of the race?
Yes: Donations will be accepted for 6 weeks after the event.

🔄 Can I transfer my registration to another participant?
Yes: Transfers must be received before Thursday, September 5th.
🚫 Can I get a refund?
No Refunds: We do not provide refunds for the event.
🤝 How can I volunteer?
Register: It’s simple! Volunteers are always needed for the day of festivities. Go online and you can REGISTER as a volunteer!
🧾 Do registrants get receipts?
Online Receipts: When you register online you should automatically receive a receipt.
🚑 Is there a medical staff available on-site?
Medical Staff: Yes, there will be an Emergency Medical Service team available on site.
