• Challenge: For over 200 years, Parkinson Disease has been steadily growing—and recently, at an alarming rate. It is now the fastest-growing neurological condition in the world.
• Statistics: In the U.S., Florida has the highest number of cases per capita, with over 79,000 individuals affected, contributing to the 1 million cases nationwide and 10 million globally.
• Future Projections: That number is projected to rise to 12.9 million by 2040.
• Impact: Parkinson’s is a chronic, progressive, and complex multi-system disorder with no known cure, affecting mental, emotional, and autonomic functions.

Community Support

• Local Program: The Lee Health Parkinson Program has served over 4,500 individuals in our community and currently supports nearly 2,000 people.
• Mission: Our mission is to provide hope and critical resources to help individuals and families navigate the challenges of living with Parkinson’s.
• Free Services: Offering personalized support, education, movement and exercise classes, enrichment groups, and social activities.
• Community Focus: Until there is a cure, there is a community—one that stands together to ensure no one faces Parkinson’s alone.

Event Details

Join us for the Parkinson's 5K & Wellness Walk, benefiting the Lee Health Parkinson Program, as we come together to raise awareness and funds for local Parkinson’s support initiatives. This exciting event takes place at Lee Health Sports Park, Hammond Field, right after spring training, making it the perfect way to enjoy a day at the ballpark while supporting a great cause!

• Finishers Medal: A commemorative Finishers Medal

Timing & Award Categories (5K only)

• Overall Awards: Overall Male and Female 1st, 2nd, 3rd (Gun Time)
• Age Categories: 0 to 10 | 11 to 19 | 20 to 29 | 30 to 39 | 40 to 49 | 50 to 59 | 60 to 69 | 70 plus
• Age Group Awards: 1st, 2nd, 3rd place Male and Female based on net chip time

• Date & Time: Friday, April 10th at Fleet Feet Bell Tower from 5:00pm-7:00pm
