About the Avondale 5K
- Established: The Avondale 5K was created in 2010 to help fund the Charles Webb Center.
- Purpose: The CWC is a developmental day care operated by the Disabilities Board of Charleston County, serving children with special needs from age 6 weeks to 10 years old.
- Mission: The mission of Charles Webb is to aid in each child’s growth and development through an educational program, to develop each child’s sense of self-esteem, and to strengthen each child’s social, language and preschool skills.
- Focus: The Charles Webb Center focuses on the individual strengths of each child to maximize his or her learning in all areas of development.
Support and Participation
- Proceeds: All of the proceeds from the Avondale 5K race go directly to the Charles Webb Center to pay for classroom equipment, supplies, food, etc.
- Impact: Without the help of the A5K, Charles Webb would not be able to continue its service.
- Call to Action: Please consider participating in this year’s Avondale 5K to support the CWC!
