Description
- Organizer: The Denham Springs High School Cross Country team is hosting the sixth-annual Dog Days of Summer 5k and 1-mile run.
- Course: The race will go along historic River Road in Denham Springs and offers runners a beautiful course with lots of shade.
- Proceeds: All proceeds beyond the administrative costs of the event will be donated to the Denham Springs High School Cross Country program.
- Timing: The race will be officially timed and managed by Threshold Timing. All 5k finishers and all 1-mile finishers 14 and under will receive a custom medal.
Post-Race Festivities
- Food & Drinks: After the race, we will have drinks and food (while supplies last) in the pavilion near the finish line.

Registration Fees
- June 28th: $20 for 1-mile run, $35 for 5k.
- July 19th: $25 for 1-mile run, $40 for 5k.
- August 1st: $25 for 1-mile run, $45 for 5k.
Packet Pickup
- Pre-Race Pickup: We strongly encourage you to pick up your packet before race day. Denham Springs High School, 1000 N. Range Ave, Denham Springs, LA, 70726, Friday, July 31st, from 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm.
- Race Day Pickup: At the race site, starting at 6:00 am.
Age Groups
- 1-Mile Age Groups: 5 and under, 6-7, 8-9, 10-11, 12-14.
- 5k Age Groups: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and over.
Awards
- 1-Mile Awards: Top 3 for Each Age Group - Prizes to be determined.
- 5k Awards: Top Overall Male/Female, Masters Champion (40 and up) Male/Female, Grand Masters (50 and up) Male/Female, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, Male & Female in each age group.
- Champion Prizes: Overall Champions, Masters Champions, and Grandmaster Champions will receive a gift card from Varsity Sports.
- 5k Age Group Winners: Will receive a custom singlet from Varsity Sports.
