Join us for our annual 5k Road Race through the streets of Seymour, Connecticut as we Pound the Pavement to fight breast cancer.

History of the Event

• Inception: In 2012, Seymour Tradition, a nonprofit organization, partnered with Seymour Pink, Inc. to co-host a 5K race.
• Event Naming: A naming contest was held, leading to the birth of the Pounding the Pavement for Pink 5K race.
• Fundraising Success: The first year generated a total of $24,000, benefiting both organizations.
• Continued Impact: Over the years, this event has contributed over $1.5M towards Seymour Pink's mission.

Join Us in Seymour

We take the streets, lined with pink lines, spectators and decorations the first Saturday in October each year. Runners and walkers are welcome.

Virtual Racing Option

• Introduction: In 2020, we introduced virtual racing to the Seymour Pink community.
• Widespread Participation: Over 1,600 participants from 30 states joined the virtual event that year.
• Continuing the Tradition: The virtual option remains available for supporters to participate from anywhere.
• Participation Details: Walk or run your miles anytime and anywhere during the 3-day virtual period of the first Friday in October through Sunday evening.

Kids Fun Run

We offer a ~ half mile Kids Run to kick off our race morning events! Children ages 8 and under can partake in this fun run in Seymour on the first Saturday in October or virtually from anywhere!
