🏃‍♀️ La Llorona "Ditch Witch" Run

Join us for the annual La Llorona "Ditch Witch" Run: 10K, 5K, and Kids K on October 12, 2025. This unique event takes place in the heart of the Bosque along the ditches and canals of the North Valley. La Llorona, or "The Weeping Woman," is a legendary ghost in Hispanic American and New Mexico folklore. As per tradition, La Llorona is the ghost of a woman who cries while searching for her lost children by the river and ditch banks. Don't be surprised if you spot La Llorona during the run! All participants will receive an event t-shirt and a finisher medal. Refreshments will be provided at the finish line.

Race Start Times: 10K: 4:00 p.m., 5K: 4:05 p.m., Kids K: 5:00 p.m.
Packet Pickup: Saturday, October 11, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Fleet Feet Sports, North Towne Plaza, 5901 Wyoming Suite R, Albuquerque NM 87109

🥇 Awards and Finish

Participant finisher medals, age group, and overall awards, including other treats at the finish, so mark your calendar and register today! The overall and division award winners will be announced at the Awards Ceremony on race day, immediately following the Kid K.

🍰 Refreshments

Refreshments and awards will be available at the finish line.

🏥 Medical Support

Medical staff members will be ready to assist you at any time. Radio communications personnel will be positioned along the course at every aid/water station. The event officials have the right to withdraw any runner from the race who appears distressed or at risk. If you have a health or medical problem at the Finish Line, please notify event officials or volunteers.

Can I run with iPod/headphones: Yes, but athletes competing for prizes cannot use electronic devices such as headphones and earpieces.
What is NOT allowed on the course: The use of video devices, cell phones, computers, cameras, or any similar devices by participants is prohibited.
Can a friend pick up my packet: Yes, your friend can pick up your packet for you.
Am I able to bring my dog: No, dogs are not permitted due to the single-track nature of the course in some areas.

Weather forecasts will be monitored before the event, paying attention to heavy rain, thunder and lightning, high winds, and extreme temperatures. Updates will be communicated as necessary.
