EVENT DESCRIPTION
Join us for the annual La Llorona "Ditch Witch" Run: 10K, 5K, and Kids K on October 12, 2025. This unique event takes place in the heart of the Bosque along the ditches and canals of the North Valley. La Llorona, or "The Weeping Woman," is a legendary ghost in Hispanic American and New Mexico folklore. As per tradition, La Llorona is the ghost of a woman who cries while searching for her lost children by the river and ditch banks. Don't be surprised if you spot La Llorona during the run! All participants will receive an event t-shirt and a finisher medal. Refreshments will be provided at the finish line.

- Location: 6440 Coors Blvd. NW, Albuquerque, NM
- Date: October 12, 2025
- Start Times: 10K at 4:00 p.m., 5K at 4:05 p.m., Kids K at 5:00 p.m.
- Finish Line: Well-stocked table with water and Powerade stations
PICKUP AND REGISTRATION
- Packet Pickup: Saturday, October 11, 2025 from 11:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Fleet Feet Sports, North Towne Plaza
- Registration: Race day registration on the north side of Sagebrush Community Church
- Parking: Designated areas at Sagebrush Community Church
- Restroom Facilities: Port-a-potties near the start/finish
SAFETY AND SUPPORT
- Medical Support: Staff available throughout the race with assistance as needed
- Race Requirements: Participants must wear a bib number visible on the front of their clothing
- Weather Policy: Weather updates will be provided: adjustments may be made based on conditions
- Lost & Found: Items can be reported at the event: call 505.217-4774 for assistance
Awards and Prizes
- Overall Awards: Top three men and women in the 10K and 5K
- Age Group Awards: Top three finishers in various age categories
- Kids K: All registered participants (11 and under) eligible for medals
- Post Race: Refreshments and awards ceremony after the race
