🎉 NM FAROLITO "TRAIL OF LIGHTS" 5K

Join us for the 21st Annual New Mexico Farolito "Trail of Lights" 5K and Kids K, a festive holiday run and walk illuminated by 2,500 farolitos (luminarias). In true New Mexican Christmas tradition, these glowing candles set in sand-filled bags will light your path, creating a warm and enchanting holiday atmosphere.

This beloved event brings together hundreds of runners and walkers each year, making it a cherished community tradition you won’t want to miss.

All races will start promptly at the designated times listed above. Allow plenty of time to get to the start.

🚗 PARKING

PLEASE USE DESIGNATED PARKING AREAS/SPACES ONLY. DO NOT BLOCK HANDICAPPED OR OTHER RESTRICTED PARKING AREAS—NO PARKING ON DIRT FIELDS OR THE SIDE OF ROADS.

🚻 BATHROOM FACILITIES

Bathrooms (port-a-potties) are located in the east parking lot, just east of the finish and next to the start.

🎟️ RACE NUMBER REQUIREMENTS

Each participant will receive a Race (Bib) number that must be worn on race day. Bib numbers are non-transferable and MUST be worn by the runner to whom they are assigned.

❓ FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

• Headphones: Yes, you may run with an iPod/headphones, but athletes competing for prizes cannot use them.
• GPS Devices: Garmin GPS watches and similar devices are permitted, but they do not count as official timing devices.
• Prohibited Items: Participants cannot use video devices, cell phones, or similar electronics during the event.
• Strollers: Allowed but must start at the back of the pack and be well-lit.

☂️ INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY

Weather forecasts will be monitored prior to the event. If necessary, modifications to the race may occur due to severe weather conditions. Updates will be provided via the RunFit website and participant emails.

🏥 MEDICAL SUPPORT

Medical staff will be present at the event. If you experience any distress, please notify an official for assistance.

🍏 POST-RACE

Post-race refreshments will be available immediately after you finish. Enjoy some of your favorite holiday treats.
