🎉 Welcome to the NM Farolito "Trail of Lights" 5K

Join us for the 21st Annual New Mexico Farolito "Trail of Lights" 5K and Kids K, a festive holiday run and walk illuminated by 2,500 farolitos (luminarias). In true New Mexican Christmas tradition, these glowing candles set in sand-filled bags will light your path, creating a warm and enchanting holiday atmosphere.

This beloved event brings together hundreds of runners and walkers each year, making it a cherished community tradition you won’t want to miss.

🏁 Event Route

NM FAROLITO 5K Route

Start Location: Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute

The 5K and Kids K start location is near the finish. All races will start promptly at the designated times listed above.

🅿️ Parking Information

Please use designated parking areas only. Do not block handicapped or other restricted parking areas—no parking on dirt fields or the side of roads.

🚻 Bathroom Facilities

Bathrooms (port-a-potties) are located in the east parking lot, just east of the finish and next to the start.

🏷️ Race Number Requirements

Each participant will receive a Race (Bib) number that must be worn on race day. Your bib number must be visible and worn on the front outside of all clothing during the entire race.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

• Headphones: Yes, they are allowed, except for athletes competing for prizes.
• GPS Devices: Garmin GPS watches and Nike Plus devices are permitted.
• Course Restrictions: No video devices or unauthorized wheeled devices are allowed.
• Pets: No dogs are permitted, but strollers are allowed.

Weather forecasts will be monitored prior to the event. Necessary changes will be communicated on the RunFit website: www.irunfit.org.

🚑 Medical Support

Medical staff will be positioned throughout the course. Participants needing assistance should notify race officials.

🍩 Post-Race Refreshments

Post-race refreshments will be held immediately after you finish, featuring your favorite holiday treats.
