Chocolate and coffee runners and walkers, your time has come! The Chocolate and Coffee Run: 5K and Kids K is brewing to be an event you won’t want to miss! This unique blend of chocolate and coffee with a run or walk is a great way to start your day!
Brought to you in partnership with the Southwest Chocolate & Coffee Fest, Blue River Productions, and Java Joes, the Chocolate and Coffee Run and 5K is a fast out-and-back course in the heart of Downtown Washington Middle School next to Java Joes. Lace up those running and walking shoes, and join us on March 29, 2026.
Entry Benefits:
- All participants (14 years and above) will receive an entry ($15 value) to the 16th Annual Southwest Coffee and Chocolate Festival on April 11th or 12th, 2026.
- Finish line goodies: chocolate and coffee, and an event tee shirt at the Coffee and Chocolate Run.

Location: Expo NM State Fairgrounds, Albuquerque, NM
The Southwest Chocolate and Coffee Fest, established in 2009, is the world's largest event dedicated to chocolate, coffee, and gourmet foods. It features over 200 vendors, six stages, and 250,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor facilities and draws more than 22,000 attendees.
Notes:
- All pre-registered participants are encouraged to pick up their event packets at “Packet Pickup”.
- There is race-day registration available.
- Participants must wear a timing chip/bib visible at all times during the event.
Participants must follow all instructions given by Event officials. Anyone conducting themselves unsportsmanlike may be disqualified.
Wheeled Devices:
- Only authorized wheelchair participants are allowed.
- No strollers, inline skates, or bicycles are permitted.
Parking:
Parking is available at Washington Middle School and surrounding neighborhoods. No parking on the course.
Bathrooms:
Bathrooms are located near the start/finish area.
Medical Support:
Medical staff will be available along the course.
5K Awards:
- Overall prizes for top three men and women.
- Age group prizes for top three finishers.
Kids K:
- All registered participants receive a special recognition award.
- Non-timed event with t-shirts and finisher awards.
Can I run with headphones?
Yes, but athletes competing for prize money cannot use electronic devices.
Are strollers allowed?
Yes. They must start at the back of the pack.
What about dogs?
Yes, but must be on a short leash.
Results will be posted online at www.irunfit.org on Sunday, March 29, 2026.
