Springbrook Splash 10K/5K and Kids Mile - Race and Fundraiser for Blount County Sheriff's Office

🗓️ Date, Time, and Place

• Date, Time, and Place: Saturday, July 20, 2024 at 7:00 am for the Kids Mile and 7:30 am for the 10K and 5k Races. Starts and Finishes at the Springbrook Pool at 636 Vose Road, Alcoa, TN 37701.

🎽 Bib Pickup

• Bib Pickup: Early pickup tbd. Day of bib pickup, race site, 6:00am-7:20am

🚗 Directions

• Directions: From Knoxville go south on Highway 129 (Alcoa Highway) to East Hunt Road exit. Take East Hunt Road and turn right on Springbrook Road. Go approximately 1 mile and turn left on Faraday Street. Springbrook Pool is on your right. Please watch for ongoing Alcoa Highway construction in 2023.

• Lodging: We are grateful that the Hilton Knoxville Airport is literally across the highway from our race location. They have offered a special discount for KTC runners. When booking online at hilton.com, enter the following code number in the "Corp ID" field: 3237153. Alternatively, you can call the hotel directly at 865-970-4300 and ask for the Knoxville Track Club rate.

🅿️ Parking

• Parking: Parking is available at several lots nearby including the Springbrook Pool parking lot, the Springbrook Recreation Center parking lot, or Alcoa Little League Park lot, among others. Please do NOT park in the condominium parking across from the pool.

🏃 Course Description and Highlights

• Course Description and Highlights: New 10k and 5k courses are in the works due to anticipated construction along the traditional route.

🤝 Charity Partner

• Charity Partner: This year, the race has partnered with the Blount County Sheriff's Office to collect donations in memory of Deputy Greg McGowan and Deputy Shelby Eggers. $5 of every registration will be donated to the fund. Additional donations are encouraged to support their families and loved ones.

• Registration: Registration details and pricing can be found here. Various discounts are available during online registration.

👕 Towels

• Towels: The first 250 Pre-registered runners will receive a custom beach towel on race day. Late Registrants will receive towels as supplies last.

🍹 Refreshments

• Refreshments: Post Race Refreshments and swimming will be provided for all runners and walkers at the pool. Please bring your own refreshments if you have specific dietary needs or food allergies.

🏆 Awards

• Awards: Various awards categories including Overall, Masters, Grandmasters, Senior Grandmasters, Clydesdale, and Athena will be presented. Winners must pick up their awards during the ceremony.

🌟 Grand Prix Points Team Competition

• Grand Prix Points Team Competition: The Springbrook Splash 10k and 5k are part of the 2024 Team Competition schedule with awards in various categories and age groups. Participants must be KTC members and volunteer at least 3 KTC races throughout the year to be eligible for Grand Prix Points.
