Join Fleet Feet Tampa for the second annual The Big Run 5k on May 31, 2025, at Al Lopez Park in Tampa! This exciting event is a celebration of Global Running Day, dedicated to bringing together the diverse running community in Tampa and beyond. This event is a timed 5k that welcomes participants of all skill levels, whether you're a seasoned runner or just starting your fitness journey. The course at Al Lopez Park provides a picturesque backdrop for your run, creating an enjoyable and memorable experience for all.

The Big Run 5k isn't just about crossing the finish line: it's about celebrating the spirit of running and fostering a sense of community. We believe in inclusivity, and that's why this event is designed for both runners and walkers. Come join us and be a part of building a stronger and more connected running community right here in Tampa. What makes this event even more special is our commitment to giving back. A portion of the profits from The Big Run 5k will be donated to our charitable partner, Girls on the Run of Tampa Bay. In addition, we are collecting charitable donations on their behalf as well. Your participation not only supports your fitness goals but also contributes to the well-being of our community.

📝 Registration Information

• Online Registration: Open until May 31, 2025
• Race Day Registration: Available from 6-7 AM on June 1, 2025
• Included: Chip-timed 5k, technical shirt, bib, finisher medal, and post-race food/beverages
• Shirt Guarantee: Available for signups on or before May 1, 2025

🌍 Virtual Option

This virtual race allows participants to submit times but are not eligible for prizes. Registration includes a technical shirt, bib, and participation medal. Participants will have until Global Running Day on June 5, 2025, to submit their times.

📦 Packet Pickup

• Early Pickup: At Fleet Feet Flatwoods
• Date: May 30, 2025, from 4-7 PM
• Date: May 31, 2025, from 4-7 PM
• Race Day Pickup: June 1, 2025, from 6:30-7 AM

🗺️ Course Map

The Big Run 5k will follow the USATF sanctioned 5k course which is the standard Al Lopez 5k course. The course map can be found here.

🏆 Awards

Finishers will receive a participant's medal as they finish each race. Overall male and female will be based on gun time. All other awards will be based on chip time. In addition to overall male and female, The Big Run 5k will recognize masters male and female (fastest runners over 40).

The Big Run will recognize male and female 1st, 2nd, and 3rd placements in these age group categories: 9 and under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85+. In addition to these age group awards, The Big Run will recognize 1st, 2nd, and 3rd placements for non-binary participants.

Awards will be presented after the final finisher on June 1, 2025, approx 9:00 AM at Al Lopez Park.
