THE FAIRFIELD POLICE SUNSET 5K - Presented by MONECO Advisors

🌅 Welcome to the Fairfield Police Sunset 5K!

Thank you all for your support of our past events and charity causes. We are preparing for another record-breaking crowd for 2025!

🤝 Presented by MONECO Advisors

• Donations: All proceeds will be donated to the Fairfield Police Union Scholarship Fund & The Fairfield Police Foundation.
• Course Options: You can run (3.1 miles) or walk (.8 mile) course.

🎉 Summer Event Highlights

• Participation: This year we invite over 1000 runners & walkers!
• Course: Scenic & flat course starting and ending at Jennings Beach.
• Includes: T-shirts, food truck rodeo, treats for kids, fluids and adult libations for those of age.
• Registration: There will not be any race day registrations if we sell out (and we do expect to sell out!).

📅 Important Details

• Timing: The 5K distance is a computer chip timed event: complete the entire distance or risk disqualification.
• Untimed Walk: The .8 mile walk IS NOT timed, starts at the same time & location, but is a different course after the first half-mile of the 5K.
• Amenities: All participants receive the same shirts and amenities regardless of event.
• Pricing: $35 for the first 200 registered in the 5K, with prices increasing thereafter.

🍽️ Food Ticket Information

• Tickets: $15 Food truck ticket FOR NONREGISTERED only.
• Access: Spectators, friends, & family to pay for the ticket to access food and fluids by 6 pm on July 16th.
• Included: Pre-Registered participants in 5K & one-mile walk DO NOT NEED TO BUY A FOOD TICKET - it’s included in your fee!

March 8: Registration opens

June 13: Shirt size guarantee ends

July 14: 3-7 pm Early bib/shirt pickup at Marathon Sports

July 15: 11:30am-1pm and 3-6pm Early bib/shirt pickup at Marathon Sports

July 16: 4:45pm - 6:15 pm bib/shirt pickup at Registration Tent at Jennings Beach

6:30pm: START of timed 5K distance and untimed walk!

🏆 Awards Information

• Awards: First place trophies and $25 Marathon Sports Gift Cards for overall champions.
• Age Group: Marathon Sports gift card awards to top 3 in various age groups.
• No Awards: There are NO awards for the .8 mile walk - it is non-competitive.

🚶 Post-Event Details

Reminder: Paid participants in the 5K and the .8-mile events can enjoy post-event food and fluids included in registration fee.

👥 Participation and Donations

There is a 1000-person limit for this 5K event, but our donation button always remains open. Donations are fully tax-deductible.

⚠️ Safety and Regulations

We will be using a chip-timed, "open start" format, beginning with the full field of 1000 all at once. Please prepare for a safe start.
