The Flynn's Flyers 5k

🏃‍♀️ Race Overview

The Flynn's Flyers 5k road race will take place on Saturday, September 21, 2024, in Central Falls, Rhode Island.

🌟 Event Purpose

• In Memory: This event is in memory of our long-time colleague, friend, coach, and educator Ms. Kelly Flynn who suddenly passed away in the spring of 2023.
• Community Impact: All funds raised at this event will go towards the Girls on the Run CFSD afterschool program.
• Legacy: Let’s run together to honor the legacy of Kelly. Fly high, Ms. Flynn!
• Good Luck: Good luck to all the runners involved.

🕘 Race Day Details

• Start Time: The race will start promptly at 9:00 am with a short speaking engagement beginning at around 8:40 am.
• Check-In: Runners may start the check-in process at the starting line as early as 7:45 am.
• Location: The race will start and end at Yip Field in Central Falls, with parking located a short distance from the starting line.
• Course: The slightly more than 3.1-mile race loop is mixed terrain and will take runners and walkers throughout the loop three times before crossing the finish line.

🚫 Participant Guidelines

• Registration: We encourage both runners and walkers to register for the event.
• No Pets: Due to safety issues and the course design, dogs and baby carriages are not allowed.
• Participant Gifts: All participants will receive a t-shirt and race medal.
• Refreshments: At the conclusion of the race, there will be light refreshments for runners.

📣 Community Support

We encourage family and friends to cheer runners on throughout the course. This is a rain or shine event.
