Race Description
Why take your dog for a walk when you can take them for a fun run instead? The Blue Stone 5K-9 will be a pawsome event happening during the Blue Stone Art and Music Festival. Don't miss this tail-wagging good time with your "best friend!"
- Route: Primarily flat road race, down and back route.
- Participants: Runners and walkers of all ages welcome.
- Adaptive Cycles: Available for participants with disabilities by reservation.

T-Shirt and Packet Pickup
- T-Shirt Cutoff: 8/29 – Guaranteed for registrants by 4 PM on August 28, 2026.
- Packet Pickup: Friday, September 25, from 4 PM – 7 PM at Century East Parking Lot.
- Late Pickup: Race bib pickup at the Start/Finish line before 7:30 AM.
- Goodie Bag: Available after the race.
Race Day Information
- Date: Saturday, September 26 – Race starts promptly at 8 AM.
- Location: Start and end at Century East Parking Lot.
- Parking: Available at Century East Parking Lot. Arrive early!
- Onsite Registration: Available before 7:30 AM for friends/family.
Registration and Awards
Registration includes: Race t-shirt, finisher medal, goodie bag, water, and snacks (subject to availability).
- Awards: Top Overall (M/F), Top Dog (M/F), and age group awards.
- Participants must: Pick up awards at the ceremony – awards will not be mailed.
- No Devices Allowed: Scooters, bikes, rollerblades, etc. are prohibited.
- Adaptive Athlete Exemption: Adaptive chairs/cycles permitted.
Canine Race Etiquette
We can’t wait to see all our furry friends crossing the finish line, but please follow these Doggy Do’s and Don’ts!
- Leash Requirement: A short non-retractable leash no longer than 6 ft.
- Harness Recommended: A harness gives better control than a collar.
- Respect Space: Always ask before petting another dog.
- Service Dogs: Maintain distance from service and police dogs.
Race Day Conduct
- Start Positioning: Stay at the back at the start: move up as the field thins.
- Passing Etiquette: Pass on the left, stay to the right, and communicate.
- Drink Stops: Pull over to the side before/after drink stations.
- Cleanup Duty: Carry pick-up bags to clean up after your dog.
Post-Race Festivities
Once you cross the finish line, you are invited to sit, stay, or play at the Blue Stone Art and Music Festival! Stroll along Blue Stone Road to check out the artists and groove to the live music. The two-day event is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 25, and Saturday, Sept. 26. Please note that dogs are welcomed during the Blue Stone 5K9, but they are not permitted inside the festival.
