Event Overview
- Fun Run: Why take your dog for a walk when you can take them for a fun run instead?
- Pawsome Event: The Blue Stone 5K-9 will be a pawsome event happening during the Blue Stone Art and Music Festival.
- All Welcome: Runners and walkers of all ages are welcome with or without a furry friend!
- Course: The route is a primarily flat road race, down and back route.
Adaptive Cycles
- Partnership: In partnership with Catalyst Sports, Sandy Springs Recreation & Parks will have a limited number of adaptive hand cycles bikes available to borrow.
- Reservation: To reserve an adaptive cycle, please email desiree@catalystsports.org.
T-Shirt and Packet Information
- T-Shirt Cut Off: Race T-shirts guaranteed to all who register by August 29, 2025, 4pm.
- Packet Pick Up: Race Packet Pick Up is Friday, 9/26 from 4pm – 7pm at Century East Parking Lot, 6100 Lake Forest Drive, Sandy Springs, GA 30328.
- Race Day Pickup: If you did not come to packet pick up, you can pick up your race bib at the Start/Finish line before 7:30 am.
- Goodie Bag: You may pick up your goodie bag after the race.
Race Day Details
- Race Start Time: The race will start promptly at 8 am and end at 9:30 am.
- Parking: Please park at Century East Parking Lot, 6100 Lake Forest Drive.
- Facilities: We will have porta potties at the Century East Parking Lot.
- Onsite Registration: Friend/family can register onsite before 7:30 am.
Awards
Top OVERALL Winner (M/F), Top MASTER Winner (M/F), Top Dog Winner (M/F), Top Handcycle Winner (M/F), Top Rim-push Winner (M/F), Top Push-assist, Top Pedal Trike and Top 3 M/F in the age groups: 11 and under, 12-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+.
*Please note that awards will not be mailed. If you need to leave before the ceremony, please pick up your award at the awards table.
Canine Race Etiquette
- Leash Requirement: A short non-retractable leash no longer than 6 ft is required.
- Personal Responsibility: The participant takes personal responsibility for their dog.
- Recommended Equipment: A harness versus a collar.
- Pet Interaction: Always ask before petting a dog.
During the Race
Pass on the left, stay to the right. Always be aware of which side you’re passing and try not to step in front of another runner.
If it looks like your dog is going to relieve itself, move to the side and pick up after them.
Post-Race Festivities
Once you cross the finish line, you are invited to sit, stay, or play at the Blue Stone Art and Music Festival! Note that while dogs are welcomed during the Blue Stone 5K-9, they are not permitted inside the festival. Learn more about the festival here.
