🏃‍♂️Race Overview

4 X 2 MILE CROSS COUNTRY RELAY

“GET OFF THE ROAD”

Hosted by Trail Racing Over Texas and Hardloop Endurance. The Road Kill XC is the 2025 HARRA Fall Series cross-country team event for all ages, clubs, and teams (not just HARRA clubs).

📅Event Info

• Event Updates: 2025 event updates are still being considered, registration will open once final decisions have been made.
• Date: The date is confirmed and reserved with Bear Creek Park (could be moving to a different location within the park).
• Team Composition: Team of 2-4 people, eight-mile relay event (two-mile legs), open to all runners (not just HARRA).
• Start Time: We will start all teams at 8 AM.

📍Location and Course

• Venue: Bear Creek Park - Baseball Field 7 Parking (SE corner), look for porta-cans and tents on grass. Google Map Pin
• Setup Time: Setup will begin at 7 AM, please be patient for packet pickup until we are ready.
• Course Details: The course will be marked and is mainly firm grass, spikes are allowed but not common for this event.
• Course Length: The course is wheeled for accuracy to road race certification standards and will be exactly 3,222 meters.

👥Team Categories / Divisions

We will have several different divisions your team can compete in, please ensure all your team members meet the requirement for that division.

• Open / General: Age 10+
• Youth Boys: Ages 10-17
• Open Men's: All Men
• Master's Men: Ages 40+

📜Relay Rules

The Road Kill XC event is a USATF Sanctioned event, following all USATF Rules & Regulations. Below are some general guidelines for the meet.

• Membership: In order for a team to score in the HARRA Interclub Competition, all runners must be HARRA members.
• Relay Team Rule: Each runner may only run one leg of the relay.
• Race Number: Each team member must wear a race number bib visible on the front, including RFID timing chip.
• Disqualification: The race director may disqualify anyone for not adhering to the rules.

🕘Schedule

• Packet Pickup: 7:00 AM to 8:00 AM at Bear Creek Park Race Venue
• Race Start: 8:00 AM
• Course & Finish Line Closed: 10:00 AM
• Awards Ceremony: Following the finish line closure

💧Aid Station and Support

The start/finish/registration area will have tents with water, Gatorade, and post-race snacks. Note that Trail Racing Over Texas is a cupless race company and you will need your own form of hydration device.

🏕️Team Tent Setup

Clubs and teams are encouraged to set up their own team tent with support for their members along the side-lines of the start/finish. Setup can begin at 7 AM and must start tear down at 11 AM.

🚗Venue Info: Parking & Washrooms

No speeding! Park police will be strict. Bear Creek Park has ample parking with facilities open for washrooms and water fountains. The event is located at Bear Creek Pioneers Park (3560 War Memorial St, Houston, TX 77084).

📦Packet Pickup & Race Day Info

Packet Pickup opens at 7 AM at the main tent at the start/finish. You may pick up all bibs and swag for your team as well as a baton. The baton will contain your RFID Chips for timing.

🏆Medals & Awards

All runners will receive an XC ribbon and wood-engraved medals for all members of teams winning a category division.

🗺️Map & Course

The course will be clearly marked with blue spray paint chalk and flagging. Runners will stay to the right to begin a two-mile counter-clockwise loop. Strava Map

🔁Relay Exchange Area

Runners finishing their lap will come in under the finish arch and enter the exchange area. Only one member per team may be in this area at a time.

🤝Volunteer

HARRA clubs must designate at least one volunteer to assist with the meet. Sign-up for spots here on RunSignup.
