Poker Run 5K

Join us for a TIMED 5K to support the Imagine North Port Cross Country Sharks. (200 participants max)

Time: 8:00 AM

Location: Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park, 6968 Reisterstown Rd, North Port, FL 34291

🎽 Participant Perks

• T-Shirt & Medal: Every registered participant will receive a Poker Run T-Shirt & Finisher Medal.
• Registration Deadline: Must register by Sep 26th to guarantee a Poker Run shirt.
• Age Requirement: Participants must be 21+ to play poker.
• Event Style: This is a Texas Holdem Style 5K event.

🃏 Poker Details

• Card Collection: Participants playing poker will gather two playing cards from the table mid-race to complete their hand.
• Check-In Process: Upon returning, runners will place their cards on the Check-In table. The cards will be stapled together with the runner’s name written on them.
• No Experience Needed: Participants do NOT need to know how to play poker to participate. They just need to pick up 2 cards during the run.
• Prize Details: The Highest poker hand will receive a $100 gift card: the Worst poker hand will receive a $75 gift card.

⏰ Timing and Rules

• Tie-Breakers: We will have a clock so in the event of a poker hand tie, the fastest runner wins the hand.
• Card Rankings: Straights over Flushes.
• Hydration: Water will be provided for runners at the table mid-run.

💰 Proceeds

ALL PROCEEDS AFTER EXPENSES WILL GO TO THE IMAGINE XC TEAM BOOSTERS ACCOUNT.

📍 Course and Directions

• Course Description: Start by running out of the park lot onto the sidewalk on 41, Turn right on Sumter Blvd, then turn around at the water stop/poker table receiving TWO CARDS then back to finish 3.1 miles Course Map.
• Card Collection Reminder: DO NOT FORGET TO pick two cards from the table set out by the Volunteers at the water stop.
• Check-In Reminder: Runners returning will place their cards on the Check-In Table: CARDS WILL THEN BE STAPLED TOGETHER AND YOUR NAME WRITTEN ON THEM.
• Parking Info: Parking is available within the park or along Reisterstown Road/Estates Drive. Please refrain from parking on the residential side of Reisterstown Road/Estates Drive.

🗺️ Getting Here

Directions: Take Exit 182 from I-75 and head East. Follow Sumter Blvd. to Tropicaire Blvd. Turn left on Tropicaire Blvd. and turn right on Reisterstown Road. The park is at the curve of Reisterstown Road on the right.
