St. Rita 5K & Fun Run for Education

Race Overview

Whether you're a serious runner, a casual stroller, or a pint-sized sprinter, we’ve got a race for you. Help us support St. Rita Catholic School while enjoying a fun-filled morning of fitness, fall colors, and community spirit in the heart of Alexandria.

Course Details

Get ready for a flat, fast, and tree-lined out-and-back route along Main Line Boulevard and Potomac Ave. in the charming Potomac Yard neighborhood. You’ll start and finish just behind George Washington Middle School (enter via Mt. Vernon Ave.), where crisp fall air and vibrant autumn leaves set the scene for a memorable race.

Race Day Schedule

• Packet Pickup & Onsite Registration: 6:45–8:00am
• 1K Fun Run: 8:00am (perfect for kids!)
• 5K Main Event: 8:30am
• Awards Ceremony & Sponsor Expo Fun: 9:30am

Packet Pickup Options

Pick up your race bib and our signature student-designed t-shirt at one of these convenient times:

1. Wed, Nov. 12: 11:30–2:30 pm – St. Rita School (3801 Russell Rd, Alexandria - Use the alley entrance behind the church to access the school parking lot.)
2. Fri, Nov. 14: 4–7pm – St. Rita School (3801 Russell Rd, Alexandria - Use the alley entrance behind the church to access the school parking lot.)
3. Race Morning: 6:45–8am – At the registration table near the start line

NOTE: Guaranteed t-shirts are available for participants who registered by October 28. If you registered after October 28, a limited number of shirts will be available on a first-come, first-served basis at pick-up.

• Bag Check: No bag check, so pack light
• Metro Access: Easy access to the starting line—just steps from the Braddock Rd. Metro (Yellow/Blue Line)
• Parking: Free parking is available

Race Day Fuel

Enjoy coffee, cider, and fresh pastries from Gustave Boulangerie! A portion of the proceeds will benefit St. Rita School—so bring cash or card and treat yourself after the race.
