Paper Chase 5K

Event Overview

The Paper Chase 5K raises funds to support teachers and children with free supplies through Free 2 Teach. Free 2 Teach invests in public school teachers so that they can equip and inspire every child in their classroom. Come out and join us on February 28, 2026, in downtown Huntsville.

School Competition

• Competition: The school with the most runners (family, supporters, staff, friends, etc.) will win $1,500 for their school library and/or technology needs!

Raffle Details

• Celebration: This year to celebrate the launch of Free 2 Play, we will raffle off tickets to some of the hottest sports teams in town!
• Prizes: Four lucky runners will win a family 4-pack of tickets to one of the following events: Savannah Bananas, Trash Pandas, or HCFC, or 2 tickets and a merchandise bag for the Huntsville Havoc.

Course Information

• Course: The course winds through beautiful downtown Huntsville and is a partial loop certified with USATF (code: AL18003JE).
• Participants: Runners of all levels are invited as are walkers. This is a great way to run with your family and friends in a casual and fun environment.
• Strollers: Due to insurance restrictions, strollers are not permitted on the course.

Registration Information

• Deadline: PLEASE REGISTER BY JANUARY 31, 2026 TO GUARANTEE A T-SHIRT!
• Event Type: This race will be an in-person event, rain or shine. The race fee will go toward your registration and all funds are non-refundable. Thank you!

Packet Pickup

• When: Packet pickup will occur from 10am-7pm on February 27th, at Fleet Feet in Jones Valley, and on race day at the race site until 7:40am.

Raffle Terms

• Entry: The only way to enter the raffle is to enter the race. 4 Bib numbers will be drawn after the race winners are announced.
• Prizes: Savannah Bananas: 4 tickets to the 7pm game on 5/7/2026 at Truist Park (Braves Stadium).
• Huntsville Havoc: 2 tickets to your choice of home game in the 2025/2026 season and a goodie bag of team merchandise.
• Trash Pandas: 4 tickets to your choice of home game in the 2026 season. HCFC: 4 tickets to your choice of home game in the 2026 season.
