The start and finish of all races will be in the Water Park west parking lot at the Archery area like it was in 2024.

Event Overview

• History: For over three decades, the River City Run has been one of North Alabama’s most anticipated Spring RRCA runs.
• Charity Sponsor: We are proud to partner with The Committee on Church Cooperation as our Charity Sponsor.
• Prize Money: $800 in Prize Money!! 10k male/female: 1st $125, 2nd $100, 3rd $75, Master $50, Grand Master $50.
• Finishers Medals: Finishers Medals for 10k and 5k. Fun Run awards for the kids.

Race Distances

Runners can participate in the 5K, 10K, 5k/10K Double or the all ages Fun Run. The 10K and 5K courses are flat and fast. The first 3.5 miles of the 10K are run through quiet residential streets. The finish of the 10K and the entire 5K is run on the park and golf course perimeter road which runs along the beautiful Tennessee River. The 5K course is an out-and-back and the 10K is a loop. The Fun Run is a loop of the paved perimeter trail around the Spirit of America field.

• 5k Awards: 1st Overall M/F, Master M/F, Grand Master M/F. Age group awards 0-14 then 5 year groups to 70+
• 10k Awards: See above for prize money categories. Age group awards 0-14 then 5 year groups to 70+

• T-Shirt Guarantee: Register by March 9, 2026 to guarantee your t-shirt!
• Packet Pickup: Packet pickup and registration on Friday 3/27 from 11am to 2pm at Fleet Feet Madison, 181 Hughes Rd, Madison, AL.
• Evening Pickup: Packet pickup and registration on Friday 3/27 from 5pm to 7pm at Cross Eyed Owl Brew Pub, 105 1st Av NE, Decatur, AL.

• 6:30am-8:30am: Packet pickup and registration depending on race.
• 7:30am: 5k start
• 8:20am: 10k start
• 8:30am: 5k Awards and Fun Run start
• 9:30am: 10k Awards
