Race Overview

• Location: “The River City”, Decatur, Alabama, hosts a fabulous running/biking trail and some of the nicest runners you’ll ever meet.
• Course: The 13.1-mile race takes you through acclaimed historic districts, along the Tennessee River, and through Point Mallard Park.
• Certification: Our race course is USATF certified.

Race Options

• Half Marathon Relay: Grab some friends and run the half marathon relay option! You can have up to 4 relay members per team.
• 5K Run: New for 2027, the individual 5K Run will take place.
• 5K Perks: 5K participants receive a race shirt, carnival swag, and Finisher surprise!
• 5K Timing: The 5K race will start at 7:15am and run out and back on the same Frolic course!

Participant Benefits

• Frolic 13.1 Participants: Receive a race shirt, carnival swag and Finishers Medal.
• Relay Team Participants: Receive a race shirt, carnival swag and team Finisher Medals!
• Awards: Cash and prizes for overall winners of the HALF MARATHON along with extra recognition for 10-year age group winners.
• Post-Race Celebration: All finishers of the Frolic will be treated to a post-race celebration at the Carnegie Visual Arts Center with beignets, red beans and rice, and ONE FREE mimosa or cold beer!

Registration Information

• Online Registration: Available through February 4th, 2027, with incremental fee increases as race day approaches.
• Late Registration: In-person registration available at Carnegie Visual Arts Center up to CARNIVAL WEEKEND, Friday - February 5th from 10:30am to 6pm and pre-race Saturday, February 6th from 6am - 6:45am.
• Shirt Availability: We cannot guarantee that race shirts and sizes will be available for late registrants.

Packet Pick-Up

• Location: Available at the Carnegie Visual Arts Center.
• Date: Friday - February 5th from 10:30am to 6pm.
• Pre-Race: Saturday, February 6th from 6am - 6:45am.

Time Limit

• Half Marathon: There will be a 3:30 time limit for the HALF MARATHON as per the request of the Decatur Police Department.
