Event Overview

Please join us for the second annual First Solar HEROES 5k! We are thrilled to announce that we are continuing to partner with the U.S. Space & Rocket Center to host this memorable event. Come out and experience this awesome course that runs around the Pathfinder Shuttle and Saturn V Rocket!

Race Details

• Date: 2026-11-07
• Location: 1 Tranquility Base, Huntsville, AL
• Event Types: 5k race (3.1-mi), 5k ruck, and 1 mile fun run
• Start Times:
  • 5k Run: 07:30 am
  • 1 Mile Fun Run: 08:15 am

Race Course

5k Ruck Divisions

• Male Ruck: set to 30 lbs.
• Female Ruck: set to 20 lbs.
• Requirements: Participants must bring their own ruck meeting the weight requirement.
• Weigh In: Rucks will be weighed before the event begins.

Registration and Deadlines

• Registration Deadline: Open until 7 AM on 11/07/2026
• Guaranteed Packet Deadline: 10/23/2026
• Bib Timing: After this date, registrants will only be guaranteed a runners bib for chip timing.
• Packet & T-Shirts: Will be given out while supplies last.

HEROES is a Military Associate Resource Group that offers First Solar associates easy access to valuable resources, information and support. It fosters inclusivity, supports professional development, and helps to strengthen the community throughout the First Solar organization.

HEROES @ First Solar, a Military Associate Resource Group (MARG) will provide a safe and inclusive space for the proud community of active military, veterans, and those who support military personnel (family, friends, colleagues).
