Event Overview

Please join us for the second annual First Solar HEROES 5k! We are thrilled to announce that we are continuing to partner with the U.S. Space & Rocket Center to host this memorable event. Come out and experience this awesome course that runs around the Pathfinder Shuttle and Saturn V Rocket!

Event Details

• Date and Time: November 7, 2026
• Location: 1 Tranquility Base, Huntsville, AL
• Start Times: 5k run and 5k ruck at 07:30 am, 1 mile fun run at 08:15 am

5k Ruck Divisions

• Male Ruck: Set to 30 lbs.
• Female Ruck: Set to 20 lbs.
• Participant Requirement: Must bring their own ruck with the dry weight meeting the weight requirement.
• Weighing: Rucks will be weighed before the event begins.

• Proceeds: All proceeds for this event will be donated to Still Serving Veterans, a local non-profit military support organization.

Registration and Deadlines

• Registration Open: Until 7 AM on 11/07/2026
• Guarantee Deadline: Deadline to guarantee runner's packet is 10/23/2026.
• Post Deadline Registration: After this date, registrants will only be guaranteed a runner's bib for chip timing.
• Packet Availability: Runner's packet & t-shirts will be given out while supplies last.

• 5k Run Medals: Overall Male/Female, Master's Overall Male/Female, Top 3 Age Group Finishers (0-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-99)
• 5k Ruck Medals: Top 3 Overall Ruck Finishers Male/Female

What is HEROES?

HEROES is a Military Associate Resource Group that offers First Solar associates easy access to valuable resources, information, and support. It fosters inclusivity, supports professional development, and helps to strengthen the community throughout the First Solar organization.

HEROES @ First Solar, a Military Associate Resource Group (MARG) will provide a safe and inclusive space for the proud community of active military, veterans, and those who support military personnel (family, friends, colleagues). We will build camaraderie with each other through shared experiences, veteran recruitment, community engagement, professional growth, and retention.
