Event Overview

Please join us for the second annual First Solar HEROES 5k! We are thrilled to announce that we are partnering with the US Space & Rocket Center to host this memorable event. Come out and experience this awesome course that runs around the Pathfinder Shuttle and Saturn V Rocket!

Event Details

• Date: 2026-11-07
• Location: 1 Tranquility Base, Huntsville, AL
• Race Options: 5k race (3.1-mi) and 5k ruck
• Start Times: 07:30 am - 08:45 am

Course Information

5k Ruck Divisions

• Male Ruck: 30 lbs.
• Female Ruck: 20 lbs.
• Participant Requirement: Bring your own ruck with the dry weight meeting the requirement.
• Weighing: Rucks will be weighed before the event begins.

Registration and Deadlines

• Registration Closes: Until 7am on 11/07/2026
• Packet Guarantee Deadline: 10/19/2026
• Post-Deadline: Registrants will only be guaranteed a runners bib for chip timing.
• Packet Availability: Runners packets & t-shirts will be given out while supplies last.

Parking and Logistics

Parking will be in the lot in front of The Davidson Center for Space Exploration.

HEROES is a Military Associate Resource Group that offers associates easy access to valuable resources, information and support. It fosters inclusivity, supports professional development, and helps to strengthen the community throughout the First Solar organization.

HEROES @ First Solar, a Military Employee Resource Group (MERG) will provide a safe and inclusive space for the proud community of active military, veterans, and those who support military personnel (family, friends, colleagues). We will build camaraderie with each other through shared experiences, veteran recruitment, community engagement, professional growth, and retention.
