About this race
Race Information
- Event: Decatur's first ever marathon, and on a micro-marathon course!
- Excitement: We are excited to host the first full distance marathon on a course that is fast and USATF certified.
- Additional Events: We will also host a 10K and 5K event on the same day on flat, fast race courses.
- Benefit: All net proceeds from this event go to the Decatur High School Track and Field team to support their upcoming race season.
Marathon Details
- Course: The marathon will be a loop and athletes will run six loops of the course that runs through Point Mallard Park.
- Time Limit: There will be a 6 hour time limit with a cutoff occurring for anyone that is not through the halfway by the 3 hour mark, or 11 AM.

Awards
- Categories: Age group and overall awards will be available for the marathon, 10K and 5K.
- Qualification: The USATF certification and the course meeting B.A.A. standards will allow athletes to qualify for Boston, Chicago or New York Marathons.
- Finisher Medals: All marathon finishers will receive a finishers medal as well.
Packet Pick-Up Information
- Date & Time: Packet pick-up will be held at Cross-Eyed Owl Brewery on Friday, January 9th from 5:30-7 PM.
- Race Day Pick-Up: Race day packet pick-up begins at 6:30 AM at the start/finish area at Pt Mallard.
Course and Parking Details
- Map & Parking: Course map and parking for the marathon loop can be found at this link.
- Aid Stations: Aid stations will be at approximately the 2 and 4 mile points on the course loop.
- Hydration: Runners will have a chance for water or electrolyte drink mix at each station.
- Recovery Food: Recovery food and beverages will be available at the pavilion by the finish line for all races.
