Kennedy Kids Foundation 3rd Annual 5K Run / Walk!

🏃‍♂️ Event Overview

Hosted at Barry University in Miami Shores, the very neighborhood where our dear Kennedy Bailey grew up! Our 5K RUN OR WALK is open to all families, age groups and abilities. All results and standings will be monitored with real-time chip tracking technology from our amazing partner Split Second Timing & Wildside. This race was the brainchild of Sienna Alvarez-Coia who is a childhood friend of Kennedy's and wanted to create this race in her honor. Tragically, Kennedy struggled with depression due to a mental health crisis and lost her life on Thursday, September 15, 2022. In her honor, our Kennedy Kids Foundation is dedicated to crowdfunding, fundraising and the development of programs and initiatives for the prevention of youth suicide.

We are focused on mental health and education, heightened help-seeking behavior and equitable access to care. Our goal is to end this tragic epidemic and save lives. Will you run with us in support of mental health awareness and suicide prevention among teens?

🏅 Race Day Details

• Packet Pick Up: Runners packets will be available for pickup from 6:00am-7:15am on race day! Pick up your packet outside of Farrell Hall, on the Campus Mall area.
• Race Start: The Kennedy Kids Foundation 3rd Annual 5K kicks off at 7:30am! All participants are encouraged to arrive by 7:15am in advance of the temporary race road closures and in time for our pre-race stretch.
• Coffee Partner: Once you have picked up your packet enjoy a hot coffee from our Dunkin Donuts partner.
• Location: Barry University, 11300 NE 2nd Avenue, Miami Shores, FL 33161

🎉 Post Race Activities

We will have some family fun in the community sponsors area with face painting and balloons. Our Awards Presentation will follow the race with CASH PRIZES for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd overall along with medals for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Male/Female by age group.

🚧 Road Closures

Road Closures for the Kennedy Kids 5k Run Course:

• Closure Details: Southbound lane of NE 2nd Ave. from 111th St. to 115th St.
• More Closures: Westbound at NE 2nd Ave. and 111th St. to the entrance of 111th St. to Barry’s entrance at the Gatehouse.
• Further Closures: Westbound at NE 2nd Ave. and 115th St. all the way to NW 5th Ave.
• Restrooms & Parking: Restrooms will be available. Parking is available in the lot for $5.00 per car.
