4th Annual Empowering Children 5K

🌞 Event Overview

Join us for a vibrant coastal sunrise at Charnow Park on Sunday, September 21, 2025, as we honor and support the inspiring young people shaping our world. After the race, participate in a community beach cleanup, explore engaging educational vendors, and enjoy fun-filled activities for children.

🏅 Race Details

• Chipped Time: The 4th Annual Empowering Children 5K presented by Heal The Planet is a chipped time event.
• Awards: Awards will be provided to the top 3 (male and female) for overall and age groups.
• Options: Participants also have a 1 Mile Run/Walk option, which will also be chipped timed and start at 7:45am.
• Participant Benefits: Each participant will receive a custom race bib with RFID timing chip, Heal The Planet 5K event shirt, and sustainable finisher medal.

Heal The Planet provides impactful free programs to Broward County students that empower them to make better choices for themselves and have a greater awareness of how they can positively affect the health and well-being of themselves, our community, and the planet. This inspiring day is designed for the whole family, and your registration will help Heal The Planet continue to fulfill its mission as we Heal The Planet Together.

📅 Event Schedule

• Pre-Race Packet Pickup: Friday, September 19, 2025, from 4:00 - 6:30pm at Runner's Depot - Davie, 2233 S. University Drive, Davie, FL 33324.
• Race Day Location: Charnow Park, 300 Connecticut St., Hollywood, FL 33019.
• Event Timeline:
• 6:15am - Registration and packet pickup open
• 6:30am - Vendors open
• 6:45am - Music and entertainment begin
• 7:10am - 5K fitness warmup
• 7:25am - Announcements and National Anthem
• 7:30am - Start of the Empower Children 5K presented by Heal The Planet
• 7:40am - Start of the Empower Children 1 Mile Run/Walk presented by Heal The Planet
• 8:45am - Awards Ceremony
