❤️ Overview

Put on your cape and become a hero for families in need at the Compassion in Action 5k! This exciting event encourages participants to dress up as their favorite superheroes while running or walking through the scenic UCF campus. Join us for a fun-filled day that combines fitness, community spirit, and support for a great cause!

🤝 Cause

All proceeds from the Compassion in Action 5k will benefit the Abilities Workshop and their "LoveABLE" program, which provides essential support to special needs families facing crises. Your participation will directly contribute to making a positive impact in our community.

🎉 Event Details

Be a hero in the lives of special needs families by participating in the Compassion in Action 5K! Participants are encouraged to wear superhero costumes to promote a sense of fun and camaraderie while raising awareness for special needs families. Alongside the 5K run, enjoy family-friendly activities, entertainment, and opportunities to connect with other community members. Register now to secure your spot: all participants receive a race t-shirt and a finisher's medal. Whether you run, walk, or cheer from the sidelines, your involvement makes a difference. Together, we can foster compassion and support for those in our community who need it most.

📅 Day of Event Schedule

• 7:30 a.m.: Registration & Pre-Registrations Opens
• 8:30 a.m.: 5K Race Start - Youth 5k Starts at the same time
• 9:30 a.m.: Kids run - no chip timing

👕 Tee Shirts

Shirts are guaranteed for all pre-registered participants before November 25th. Once a shirt is sold out you will see sold out. Shirts are not guaranteed on race day.

📋 Registration & Packet Pick-Up

Packet pickup will take place on race day at race site from 6:30 a.m. to 7:45 a.m.

Timing & Scoring

Race will be timed and scored with a disposable chip provided, which will be attached to the back of the bib.

🏆 Awards

• General Registrations: Top 3 Males and Top 3 Females and top 3 in the following age groups: include 6 & under, 7-9, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80-89, 90+
• Special Athletes: Top 3 Males and Top 3 Females

❓ FAQ

• How long is the course? The 5K is 3.1 miles.
• How will I be timed? The race uses an electronic timing system that records race time and place via a transponder chip that will be given out at registration.
• What if I need help along the way? Qualified emergency medical professionals are available to provide assistance at the start/finish lines.
• Where do I park? Free parking is available at Garage D and Garage H, University of Central Florida, Orlando, FL 32816.
