Event Overview

• Date: Saturday, May 2, 2026
• Location: Evansville Wartime Museum, 7503 Petersburg Road, Evansville, IN 47725
• Start Time: 5K run at 9am, 1-mile walk at 9:05 am
• Registration: Limited to 85 participants for the run: 70 for the Kid's Dash

Race Experience

Take off on Saturday, May 2, 2026, for the 2026 5K on the Runway, presented by the Evansville Wartime Museum, benefiting the Evansville P-47 Foundation, Inc. Join hundreds of runners and walkers as they take off from the Evansville Wartime Museum with supporters cheering everyone along. The route provides a view of the airport runways, taxiways, and ramps, while showcasing remarkable aircraft such as the Evansville built P-47 Thunderbolt, “Hoosier Spirit II,” and the 1943 Chrysler M4AF Sherman Tank, “Rosie’s Revenge.”

Making a Difference

• Beneficiary: All proceeds support the mission of the P-47 Foundation.
• Mission: To honor those who served and educate generations about community pride and respect.
• Activities: Award presentations, food, coffee, and community vendors following the race.
• Registration Fees: $25 until February 14, 2026: $30 after: $35 on race day.

Registration and Packet Pickup

Register by April 12th to guarantee your shirt size as shirts are while supplies last. On race day, registration will be from 7:00 to 8:15 am. Packet pickup is encouraged on Friday, May 1, 2026, between 11am-8pm, and on race day from 7:00 am - 8:15 am.

Kid’s Dash

• Ages: Children 1 to 9 years old can participate.
• Race Start: Begins at 8:30 am.
• Distances: 50-150 meters based on age group.
• Cost: $5 per child, includes a medal.

Awards

First place trophies for overall male and female runners in the 5K. Medals for winners in each age bracket.

Results and Timing

• Timing: The race will be chip timed.
• Results: Available online immediately post-event.
• Registration Note: All registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable.
• Timely Posting: Results posted at www.tothefinishtiming.com.

Parking

Carpooling is encouraged. Parking available at SRG Global and Anchor Industries with shuttle service to the museum. Handicap parking is available but requires prior notification.

Benefits

On race date only, individuals and families can visit the Evansville Wartime Museum for a special rate of $5 per person.

Young Eagles Flights

Following the event, free flights for children ages 8-17 will be sponsored by EAA Chapter 21. Sign up online before the event at https://chapters.eaa.org/eaa21/young-eagles.
