🏁 5K on the Runway Overview

• Presented by: The Evansville Wartime Museum, the P-47 Foundation, and the Evansville Regional Airport with title sponsor, Liberty Federal Credit Union.
• Date: Saturday, May 2, 2026.
• Location: 7503 Petersburg Road, Evansville, IN 47725.
• Start Time: The 5K run will be at 9am.

👟 Race Description

• Exciting Event: Experience the thrill of running on an airport runway!
• Unique View: Runners will enjoy views of the airport, the Evansville Wartime Museum, and historic aircraft.
• Community Spirit: Support a great local organization while having fun!
• Cheer Zone: Hundreds of supporters will cheer as participants take off from the Evansville Wartime Museum.

• Benefit: Proceeds support the P-47 Foundation's mission to honor those who served.
• Community Education: The foundation educates future generations on the sacrifices made for freedom.
• Post-Race Festivities: Enjoy award presentations, food, and vendors after the race.

📅 Race Details

• 1 Mile Event: Starts at 8:45 am.
• Kid's Dash: Starts at 8:30 am for children ages 1-9.
• Registration Fees: $25 until February 14, $30 after, and $35 from April 30 to May 2.
• Kids Dash Fee: $5 includes a medal: youth t-shirts available for $12 through April 2.

🎽 Packet Pickup and Registration

• Packet Pickup: Friday, May 1, 2026, from 11 am to 6 pm and Saturday from 7 am to 8:15 am at the Evansville Wartime Museum.
• Last Minute Registration: Available on race day from 7:00 to 8:15 am, $35 fee applies.
• Shirt Guarantee: Register by April 2, 2026, to guarantee your shirt size.
• Kid's Dash Registration: Starts at $5 and includes a medal.

🏆 Awards

• Overall Winners: Trophies for the top male and female runners in the 5K.
• Age Group Awards: First place medals in various age brackets.
• Results: Chip-timed results will be available online and via email post-race.
• Non-Refundable: Please note all registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable.

🚗 Parking Information

• Ride Sharing: Participants are encouraged to ride with others to save parking spots.
• Parking Locations: Available at SRG Global (Former Whirlpool Building) and Anchor Industries.
• Shuttle Service: Provided from parking locations to the museum, arrive early!
• Handicap Parking: Available: advance notice required to ensure spots.

✈️ Young Eagles Flights

• Age Group: Free flights offered for children ages 8-17 following the event.
• Sign-Up Required: Limited seats available: early registration is necessary.
