5K on the Runway benefiting the P47 Foundation INC

✈️ Exciting Airport Experience

Take off on Saturday, May 3, 2025, for the 2025 5K on the Runway, presented by the Evansville Wartime Museum, benefiting the Evansville P-47 Foundation, Inc. giving runners a unique view of the airport and the Evansville Wartime Museum, while having fun and supporting a great, local organization.

At 9am, join hundreds of runners and walkers as they take off from the Evansville Wartime Museum with supporters cheering everyone along. The route will take you along the Evansville Regional Airport runways, taxiways, and ramps, while catching a glimpse at the Air Traffic Control Tower and the Airport Safety Department. You will see the Evansville built P-47 Thunderbolt, “Hoosier Spirit II,” as well as the 1943 Chrysler M4AF Sherman Tank, “Rosie’s Revenge.”

💡 Making a Difference

• Support Mission: All proceeds from the 5K on the Runway will support the mission of the P-47 Foundation by protecting and procuring in perpetuity the P-47 Thunderbolt.
• Honor Service: This event aims to honor those who served and to educate current and future generations in the sense of community pride, recognition, and respect attributed to all who sacrificed in the name of Freedom.
• Post-Race Fun: Stick around afterwards for award presentations, delicious food, coffee, and vendors with their running apparel and other community programs.

📅 Date and Location

• Date: Saturday, May 3, 2025.
• Location: Evansville Wartime Museum, 7503 Petersburg Road, Evansville, IN 47725.
• Start Times: 5K run at 9am, 1-mile walk at 9:05 am, Kid’s Dash at 8:30 am.
• Limited Participants: 85 participants for 5K and 1-mile, 70 participants for Kid's Dash.

💵 Registration and Fees

• 5K Fee: $25 until February 14, 2025: $30 afterwards: $35 from May 1 to May 3, 2025.
• Kid’s Dash Fee: $5.00, includes a medal for participation.
• Shirt Size: Register by April 12th to guarantee your shirt size: shirts are while supplies last.
• Registration on Race Day: Available from 7:00 to 8:15 am for $35. Payment by cash or check.

📦 Packet Pickup

• Recommended Pickup: Friday, May 2, 2025, between 11am-8pm.
• Race Day Pickup: Saturday, May 3, 2025, from 7:00 am - 8:15 am.
• Location: Evansville Wartime Museum, 7503 Petersburg Rd, Evansville, IN 47725.

🏆 Awards

• Trophies: Overall male and female winners in the 5K run/walk.
• Medals: Given to age group winners in the 5K run/walk.
• 1-Mile Walk: Participants will receive a medal for their participation.

⏱️ Results and Timing

The 5K runners and walkers will be chip-timed. Race results will be available online immediately following the event. Participants will receive results via email if an address is provided.

🚗 Parking

• Encouragement: It's highly encouraged to share rides with family or friends.
• Parking Locations: Available at SRG Global and Anchor Industries, corner of St. George Rd and HWY 41 North.
• Shuttle Service: Provided from parking locations to the Evansville Wartime Museum.
• Handicap Parking: Available, notification required.

• Museum Entry: Special rate of $5 per person for race date entry to the Evansville Wartime Museum.
• Young Eagles Flights: Free flights for children ages 8-17 through the Young Eagles Program starting at 11 am.
