5K on the Runway benefiting the P47 Foundation INC

Overview

It is presented by the Evansville Wartime Museum, the P-47 Foundation and the Evansville Regional Airport with our title sponsor, the Liberty Federal Credit Union.

How exciting it will be to run on our airport runway!!!! Take off on Saturday, May 2, 2026 for the 2026 5K on the Runway presented by the title sponsor, Liberty Federal Credit Union, benefiting the Evansville -47 Foundation, Inc. giving runners a unique view of the airport and the Evansville Wartime Museum, while having fun and supporting a great, local organization.

Race Details

• Date: Saturday, May 2, 2026
• Location: 7503 Petersburg Road, Evansville, IN 47725
• 5K run time: 9am
• 1 mile event: 8:45 am

Kid’s Dash

The Kid’s Dash race will be held at 8:30 am. Children ages 1 - 9 are invited to participate in the Kid’s Dash. All finishers will receive a medal.

Prizes and Tickets

• Breeze Airways Drawing: Two round-trip flight vouchers offered to one lucky race participant.
• Museum Tickets: Discounted tickets for registrants available for $5, valid until June 1st.
• Awards: Trophies for the overall male and female runners in the 5K race.
• Age Groups: Medals for winners in various age categories.

Registration Information

• Entry Fee: $25 until February 14th, $30 afterwards, $35 from April 30 to May 2, 2026.
• Kid’s Dash Fee: $5, includes a participation medal.
• Shirt Sizes: Register by April 2, 2026 to guarantee your size.
• Race Day Registration: Available from 7:00 to 8:15 am for $35 cash/check.

Packet Pickup

Highly encouraged to pick up your packet on Friday, May 1, 2026 from 11 am to 6 pm, or on race day from 7 am to 8:15 am at the Evansville Wartime Museum.

Parking Information

• Parking Availability: Parking is available from 7am to 12pm.
• Location: Parking at SRG Global (Former Whirlpool Building) and Anchor Industries.
• Shuttle Service: Provided from parking locations to the Evansville Wartime Museum.
• Handicap Parking: Available with prior notification to Cathy Renner.

Post-Race Activities

Following the event, starting at 11am at United Companies Air Center, EAA Chapter 21 will sponsor free flights for children ages 8-17 through the Young Eagles Program. Limited seats available: must sign up online.
