✈️ Coming in 2026: Our 5K on the Runway!
Take off on Saturday, May 2, 2026, for the 2026 5K on the Runway, presented by the Evansville Wartime Museum, benefiting the Evansville P-47 Foundation, Inc. giving runners a unique view of the airport and the Evansville Wartime Museum, while having fun and supporting a great, local organization.
🏃♂️ The Race Experience
- Start Time: At 9am join hundreds of runners and walkers.
- Route: The route takes you along the Evansville Regional Airport runways, taxiways, and ramps.
- Sights: Catch a glimpse at the Air Traffic Control Tower and see the Evansville built P-47 Thunderbolt, “Hoosier Spirit II.”
- Special Vehicles: View the 1943 Chrysler M4AF Sherman Tank, “Rosie’s Revenge.”
🎟️ Registration and Entry Fee
- Fees: 5K run and 1 mile walk registration fee is $25 until February 14, 2026: $30 afterwards: $35 from May 1 to May 2, 2026.
- Kid’s Dash: Registration fee is $5.00, includes a medal for participation.
- Shirt Policy: Register by April 12th to guarantee your shirt size.
- Day of Registration: Available from 7:00 to 8:15 am, cost $35.00.
🏅 Awards
- Trophies: First place trophies for overall male and female runners in the 5K run/walk.
- Medals: First place medals for winners in each age bracket of the 5K.
- Participation: 1 mile walkers will receive a medal: they will not be timed.

Date and Location: Saturday, May 2, 2026, at the Evansville Wartime Museum, 7503 Petersburg Road, Evansville, IN 47725.
Kid’s Dash: Race will be held at 8:30 am, children ages 1-9 can participate.
🚧 Parking Information
- Encouragement: Ride with family and friends to save parking spaces.
- Locations: Available parking at SRG Global and Anchor Industries.
- Shuttle Service: Provided from parking locations to the Evansville Wartime Museum.
🌟 Additional Benefits
As a result of this fundraiser, individuals and family members wishing to visit the Evansville Wartime Museum may do so for a special rate of $5 per person on race date only. Young Eagles Flights for children ages 8-17 will be sponsored by EAA Chapter 21 starting at 11am, with limited seats available.
