🎉 Berry Dairy Days History

• Inception: Although it started as the “Strawberry Festival”, Berry Dairy Days has been a consistent part of the community for the past 88 years!
• Community Roots: The festival celebrates Burlington’s history, agriculture, farming, traditions and community.
• First Event: Launched in 1937 by Burlington volunteer firefighters as a fundraiser to purchase new equipment.
• Tradition Transition: In 1965, the event was handed over to the Burlington Chamber of Commerce to continue the tradition.

🍰 Festival Highlights

• Giant Shortcake: A giant strawberry shortcake was pulled down Fairhaven Avenue in red wagons and shared with the crowd.
• Renaming: The event was renamed “Berry Dairy Days” to reflect the growing influence of the dairy business.
• Collaboration: Now co-hosted by the Burlington Chamber of Commerce and the City of Burlington.
• Longevity: It remains one of the oldest festivals in Skagit County, showcasing Burlington’s impressive agriculture.
