LYSB Midsummer Run

Event Overview

Celebrate the Midsummer Festival in historic Old Lyme Village with this family friendly event benefitting the Lymes' Youth Service Bureau (LYSB). The Midsummer 5K Run features a scenic road race, a 5K Run & Walk, and a Kids K. The race will begin at LYSB located at 59 Lyme Street and wind through the beautiful streets of the village. The race is held on the morning of the renowned Old Lyme Midsummer Festival, kicking off a weekend of cultural, artistic and community events at multiple sites throughout Old Lyme’s Historic District.

Registration Details

• Pricing: $30 for adults, $15 for youth (18 and under).
• Kids K Registration: $10.
• Timing: Chip timing provided by Fast Track Timing for 5K runners.
• T-Shirts: Commemorative T-Shirts will be available for the first 200 registered participants.

Awards and Divisions

The overall top three men and women will be recognized as well as the top age group winner in the men and women divisions. Divisions will be broken down as follows:

• Youth: 14 and under
• Age Groups: 15 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60-69, and 70 plus.

Important Dates

• Online Registration: Closes at 11:59 p.m. on Friday, July 24th.
• On-site Registration: Accepted up to race day.
• Packet Pick-Up: Friday, July 24, 9:00-5:00 p.m. at LYSB (59 Lyme Street, Old Lyme).
• Race Day Schedule:
  • 6:45 am – Registration opens
  • 8:00 am – 5K Run & Walk
  • 9:00 am – Kids K

Community Impact

Proceeds from the Midsummer 5K will support LYSB's programs for youth and families including mental wellness, drug & alcohol prevention, juvenile justice, positive youth development, and early childhood.
