Get ready to break a Sweat for Nick! Join us for our 10th year celebration at Sweat It Out 5k 2025! We are offering two exciting options: a thrilling "Live Race" on Saturday, June 7, 2025 or the flexibility of a "Virtual Event" from May 12 to June 7, 2025. Don't forget the little ones – our Kids Fun Run is back, giving children a chance to "Sweat For Nick" too! The Duke family, mindful of safety, invites you to support NFED and Sweat For Nick in a way that suits you best.

👥 Team Registration

• Team Requirement: Start a team with a minimum of 4 members during registration.
• Discount: Enjoy a special discount for forming a team.
• Award: Compete for the coveted Largest Team Award in the Live Race!
• Participation: This option is available for both the Live Race and the Virtual Event!

🏅 Live Race Details

• Milestone Reward: Commemorate our 10-year milestone with a custom medal at the finish line!
• Certified Course: Walk or run on our USA Track and Field Certified course.
• Water Stop: Volunteers will guide and cheer you on, with a water stop at the 1.5 mile mark.
• Finish Line Celebration: Stick around after the race for food and beverages exclusively for registered participants.

📦 Packet Pick Up

• Date & Time: Packet Pick Up is on Friday, June 6, from 4 – 6:30 pm.
• Location: Hunter-Gatherer Hangar Brewery, 1402 Jim Hamilton Blvd., Columbia, SC 29205.
• Free Beer: Participants (21 and older) get a FREE BEER by showing their race bib during Packet Pick Up or on Race Day.

🏁 Race Day Information

• Registration: Race Day Packet Pick Up or Race Day Registration opens at 6:15 am.
• Arrival: Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the 7 am start time.
• Pets & Strollers: Dogs on a leash are welcome! Strollers are welcome!
• Post-Race: Great food and water will be available at the finish line for registered participants only.

🏆 Awards Ceremony

• Time: Awards ceremony will be held around 8:30 am.
• Categories: Awards for overall and age group winners will be announced.
• Pickup: All awards must be picked up during the award ceremony.
• Raffle: Great prizes will be raffled during the awards ceremony for registered participants only.

🛡️ Virtual Race Option

• Time Frame: Runners and Walkers can "Sweat Anywhere" from May 12- June 7, 2025.
• Registration: Registration for the virtual event will close on May 26.
• Results Reporting: You will have the option to report your results through our results tab on our registration site.
• Packet Pickup: If you switch from the LIVE event to the VIRTUAL event after May 12, packet pickup will be required.

👧 Kids Fun Run

Let your kids join the fun and "Sweat For Nick" at our Kids Fun Run! This race starts at 8 am and costs only $20. This race is just for fun! You are welcome to run or walk with your child during this race. It will be lead by an adult and is less than one mile. It's a great way to get your kids involved with running!

❤️ Our Cause

Ectodermal Dysplasia is a rare inherited genetic disorder that affects 1 in 17,000 individuals worldwide. It is a multisystem disorder that typically affects the hair, teeth, nails, sweat glands, and skin. The primary feature of HED is lack of or diminished sweating: hypohydrosis. The National Foundation of Ectodermal Dysplasia (NFED) is a nonprofit organization that helps and supports families affected by HED. Please join us again this year for this worthy cause!
